Never in the many years I have been using Turbo Tax have I experienced so many problems in printing copies of a tax report. What in years past it was a simple click, click and printing completed and acceptable. This year such a task was a horrible ordeal. If this is a problem that will not be corrected I am not sure it is woth using Turbo Tax. Many comments posted are not very friendly toward Turbo Tax quality of program.
I was confused by the Federal tax summary page where it listed what I owed, what I had paid, and what was still due. The numbers didn't make sense together - the amount that was still due was 400 off from simply subtracting the owed from the paid. With your phone assistance, I was guided to look at the 1040 form and track down where those numbers were coming from. It turned out that a 400 credit had been applied in calculating what I owed, but the summary page had also added the same 400 to what I had paid/credits, so that it was been double-represented in the summary numbers. I think the summary page needs to be modified so that this situation doesn't happen.
Hate not being able to print what appears on screen, and not able to print just the state form without the federal form. Please make it easier for us, who are not skilled at using a computer.
What's great about it: Previous year's data entered automatically; East to stop and restart; Easy to jump around to desired section
What's not so great: DO NOT LIKE restrictions on printing. Want to be able to print what I see on my screen, not have to try to find the for
Despite several 2013 changes including retirement, estimated payments, and moving, Turbo Tax Deluxe had all the questions and forms needed to address all my issues. It was really neat to be able to direct debit my bank accounts for the payments due. Despite using Turbo Tax 2012 for my estimated payments, I owed due to an inability to estimate income from dividends, W-2, and other 1099's. I expect to use Turbo Tax to more successfully model and estimate quarterly payments for tax year 2014
What's great about it: E-file, E-payments due to IRS and to State, detailed worksheets
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
Easy to use even if you have limited computer skills. You can stop and save when you need to and reopen to the exact place that you left. I have used Turbo Tax for the past 4 years and have never had any issues or concerns about my tax returns. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND turbo tax to anyone.
What's great about it: Easy to use as it takes you step by step through the process.
After being prompted to allow federal forms to be printed, there was no prompt to print state forms. I think there should be a prompt for printing state forms after federal forms are printed.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Could not visualize how return would look while making entries
