Sick of Paying Fees

I think this will be my last year of using TurboTax - there are other products out there much less expensive. By the time you are done paying for the software, for state e-filing, adding another state and paying to e-file there too there is nothing left.

imported info needs double checking

imported mortgage interest from lender info went into main mortgage deduction automatically, without asking if it was for main home or rental property, I then put in manually in rental business and luckily I caught that it had been entered in both sections before I efiled. TurboTax did not pick up that the same amounts had been entered in 2 different areas. this should be a prompt when importing or at least during error check.
What's great about it: easy to follow, asks pertinent questions
What's not so great: can't go back to where you'd like to easily
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Tweeks Needed:
- When I check "Married filing jointly" the program should automatically check whether a husband AND a wife's W-2s have been entered.
- Why does the program go all the way through before notifying that it will not be able to e-File for me? That is one of the reasons I bought the home-based version because it still offered e-File........this contradicts your advertising.
What's great about it: Fairly simple process
What's not so great: Disappointed in not being able to e-File

Generally TurboTax is an excellent tax preparation package, the best I've ever used. However, I have a couple minor suggestions:
Provide a uniform method for answering a question and proceeding. Some require checking a box, then click continue; some have multiple choice boxes to continue; etc.
Allow users to really print JUST the filed forms, and no worksheets. I asked for just the forms needed to file, about 10 pages, and I got 23 pages!! That's absurd! I don't want to print any worksheets, just the forms filed!
What's great about it: Vey thorough. Logical step-by-step process.
What's not so great: Non-uniform ways to answer questions. Prints too many pages!
