It's been better in the past

I've been using Turbo Tax for almost 20 years and I don't think there is a better way. However, some years the software is just more user friendly than others and this was one of those "off" years. It started with difficulty importing last year's data. I have never encountered this particular trouble. The import just would not recognize last year's file - neither the .pdf nor the tax file. Very frustrating. I finally pulled the file again from on-line and the program recognized it. Overall the user interface just seemed better last year.
What's great about it: Mostly like prior versions
What's not so great: I didn't care for the changes over last year
Use the Full Windows or Mac version instead of the online version. The browser experience isn't good. It has issues with pop-up blocker and wouldn't import my TurboTax 2012 return at all.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy, Accurate
What's not so great: Tried doing the online version and it didn't work well. Would not import by TurboTax 2012 returns.
This software package is great if you are not a tax pro. It really walks you through the whole process. But I really dislike having to pay to e-file the state return. It is easier to print your return than in the past.
What's great about it: great explainations about deductions and if you are able to take them
What's not so great: Having to pay 19.99 to e-file your state return
I would like to have the ability to print any page screen of my choosing from the program to have for future reference and keep with my paper copy of my return, for example, under Deductions and Credits, the page to "enter your actual vehicle expenses", itemizing gas, oil, tires, etc. I found that I could only print " forms" or informational pop up screens.
Turbo Tax is very easy to use, which is good for senior citizens. We received deductions because my husband is 66 years old and I would have never know about this deduction. It walked us easily thru our taxes and error free.
What's great about it: very user friendly and gives good explainations
Once I started a form, I couldn't find a simple/easy way to go back to a specific section/topic to edit. I recall previous versions having tabs or such that made it easier to do so. With this version, I was "forced" to go through all of the questions again to get to the area where I wanted to edit. This was very cumbersome & frustrating. I also ran into one section that claimed it was still under development (in mid-March?!?), so I signed up for an email to be notified when the update was available. Never received an email, but tried again (for the third time), and suddenly that section worked (!?!). FYI, it was the sales tax calculation.
What's great about it: Detailed questions help address all appropriate topics & sections
What's not so great: Difficult to go back to a section/topic to edit.
Once again, I took care of my taxes with little to no drama. TurboTax makes it easy...unless you have a very complicated tax situation, you should do your own taxes and TurboTax is the best.
What's great about it: Super Easy to Use, Explains everything you need to know about your taxes, fast.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
