This program is even easier to follow than the list time I used it. This is my 4th time to use Turbo Tax. We used H&R Block two years ago and we immediately came back to Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Little guidance on the IRA and Roth section
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
What with certian IRS forms taking a long time to be published, and problems uploading my information from E-Trade, I got confused at times on some of my numbers. I espeically had difficulty with some stock options I exercised in 2013 and had dificulty getting back to the right areas to correct things. This and the fact that I had to pay a lot of money back gave me a less than stellar experience this year. Hopefully 2014 will be better.
What's great about it: Great for making it happen
What's not so great: Got confusing at times this year
I do a few tax returns for family members that now includes 2 different states. Turbo Tax makes it so easy to do the Federal return and now it is easy to do two different state returns.
Turbo Tax is a wonderful tax preparation software package but it has never handled my Arkansas allowed income exemption correctly during the regular questioning framework. I am required to override the income box and make the manual adjustment which results in my inability to file electronically.
What's not so great: The program does not handle the Arkansas allowed exemption from pensions correctly, in my case.
