best purchase i ever made!!!!

i have used turbo tax for several years and i would not hesitate to use it ....its cheaper then a tax preparer....try it once and you will not believe how easy......
What's great about it: quick, fast, walks you through every detail
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Liked the format, questions were easy to answer, liked the constant review telling me to recheck what I had just done and liked the refund amount at the top of the pages.
What's great about it: Liked the question and answer format. Also the constant updating.

Sooooo Easy

I have used TurboTax for several years without any problems at all. Before TurboTax, income tax time was a rough time at our house. My wife has a Masters Degree and I was a Math teacher and we could not understand the IRS directions. TurboTax solved that problem.
What's great about it: Guides you through all the steps to file

The process and instructions to efile Fed only and send state by mail are not clear. Since most states charge a fee to efile, it would serve people better to provide a simpler method to file the state. This confusion can cost extra dollars.
What's great about it: Moderately easy preparation
What's not so great: Very difficult to separate state and fed efile status

How easy can you make it

You can't beat doing and filing taxes with software programs and turbo tax is the best. If you have to do itemized deductions and/or a home business then deluxe covers what you need. Doing the software for yourself is the same cost as paying someone to do it and you get to see every step and know you are covering all your bases for paying your FAIR share and not overpaying. Now if Congress would only spend it well......
What's great about it: If you keep records then you are done in just a few hours
What's not so great: not as much detail in showing how things are calculated

This is at least my fifth year of using Turbo Tax and it continues to be user friendly and provides confidence in finding all deductions, and reporting information in a complete concise and professional manner.
What's great about it: Concise and clear questions in orderly fashion. Easy to understand

ESTIMATED TAXES FOR NEXT YEAR

I use Turbotax one time a year to compute my taxes. As I pay estimates, and sell securities and do Roth Conversions periodically, I will estimate taxes for next year and do updates at least three times during the year. I generally use the same forms each year and work off of the previous years entries. It would be helpful if this would be less cumbersome then it is currently.
I think on the Estimated Taxes and Form W-4 Worksheet, if one could transfer the Supporting Details from the previous year with the $ amounts then be able to modify them would be very helpful.
It is also helpful to use the new year's tax rates as soon as possible.
What's great about it: Have used turbotax in prior years to update estimated taxes.
What's not so great: More cumbersome than necessary.

Turbo Tax is GREAT! Not only is it user friendly, but it helps answer any questions you might have or find things you might not have thought of. I would absolutely recommend Turbo Tax to anyone!
