Support helped me to download software. Thank you. I have used TurboTax for many years and am well pleased with the results. I will continue to use TurboTax in the future.
What's great about it: Wonderful support, easy to use
What's not so great: Had difficulty downloading software
Asked if filed certain forms last year with form number but didn't tell me what the form was about or title of the form. I had to stop and look it up to see what it was about so this took a little more time on my part.
What's great about it: Seemed much easier to get around this year
What's not so great: Asked about forms without specifing what the form was for
I've been a beta tester in the past and have used your product for years. I can only compare it to preparing taxes by hand and times when I've hired a tax preparer...far less headaches than the former and TT affects the pocketbook much more gently than the latter!
What's great about it: Straightforward, eases conerns on being accurate
What's not so great: Needs a few more hyperlinks to a glossary (explanation of terms)
I have been using TurboTax for years and this is the first time I had wished for another program. Everything worked fine until I reached the end after completing the forms. The program is too complicated to finish. Needs to be changed or you will lose a lot of customers after this year.
What's great about it: O.K. Until end-then everything was to complicated
I like Turbo Tax (Mac), but it has let me down at the last step - e-Filing.
It did so with my Joint Return, and I didn't know to ask about it, so wound up filing by hard copy: Printing extra copies (~40 pages), envelop-ing them, and mailing them. Extra cost, and extra handling. Yuck!!
When this happened again today with my daughter's much simpler return, I decided there must be a better answer. I had updated my app and all forms. But the error message told me the e-File hadn't completed because I needed to update apps/forms. FAQs sent me to inTuit's support line.
What I was told by the inTuit tech is that this is a Mac-specific and KNOWN problem! Wow! So the tech asked me to "force quit" TT, restart the Mac system, and try again. I did.
Fortunately, TT had retained all my payment details (different for Feds and State), and I was able to complete the e-Filing.
But it shouldn't have been this hard.
Dear inTuit: Please fix this for 2014. I have been a loyal user for many years (always on Mac), and would like to feel good about using and recommending TT in the future. Your reputation is hanging by a thread. [I'm exaggerating only to make my point.]
