over all I had a good experience
What's great about it: easy to do at home
What's not so great: no easy way to enter milage and hours donated for tutoring at the Family Literacy Center

The step by step instructions allow anyone to get the MAXIMUM refund they deserve. No lie! I couldn't believe how big my refund was. I'm a nurse. I don't know anything about doing my taxes but TurboTax made it easy. Way, way, way better than H&R Block- they said that I owed money and penalties- can you believe it?
What's great about it: excellent for anyone who is not a CPA
What's not so great: couldn't find explanation of "basis" as it applies to charitable donations
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

It couldn't be easier to follow the very specific, concise step-by-step instructions. I love it! I'll never use anything else. I am 100% confident that my return is correct and there will never be any problems with it.

Made a complicated year easy to process

I've been using Turbo Tax for 6 or 7 years now and I find that it's easy to use, understand, follow and gives me the maximum in deductions, more so than any other tax service I've used. And the little icons with more information right next to the terms I may not know are extremely helpful. I will keep using Turbo Tax for sure as I launch a new business this year.
What's great about it: Walked me through every step I needed to consider to get every deduction I could - YES!
What's not so great: Well, not TT's fault I had to pay state taxes.... :(

Why use anything else but TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax (or MacInTax before TT) forever. Honestly, I can't think of a time that I haven't used this great program. I hear from friends, neighbors, co-workers who pay hundreds of dollars to have their taxes prepared and they don't even have complicated filing situations. Really. Enter your personal info, provide the W-2 values (or have the entries populated directly from some employers), list your deductions and voilà, your returns are completed. Push another buttons and they're sent to the IRS. Refunds are in the bank in much less time than if mailed. You cannot beat this program for simplicity, ease of use and accuracy. Highly recommended*****
What's great about it: Quick, easy, accurate, painless
What's not so great: Would like a little more flexibility to create scenarios, what ifs
