Taxes made easy

I have been using TurboTax since 2009 and love it. It has served me well. I like that I can go back and change, amend or delete information as I work. I also enjoy being able to stop and start as I need.

Overrides and forms/interview conflicts

I did my taxes as I received documents utilizing primarily the "forms" method. However, when I sometimes transferred to the "interview" method I found that the forms were duplicated, hence it created enough confusion that I ultimately converted back to the interview method.
My greatest disappointment is in the "override" system. Because of the way I do my taxes, there are frequent additions, corrections and overrides. I don't understand why overrides are considered "errors" on the error check. Furthermore I do not understand why they eliminate the possibility of filing the tax return electronically.
Turbo tax was better last year than it was this year, so I am considering going back to the hand created return next year.
Let's add the nickname issue to the list...I made six attempts before it took one....

Very easy to use

This year I used the my deduction from intuit online for my charitable givings and imported it into the program. What a great asset.
What's great about it: Easy to use and acess help when needed

It's easy and works

I've been using TurboTax from the first edition in the 80s and find it easier and easier every year. I've recommended it to everyone that will listen and will continue to do so.

In total TurboTax has worked well for me for 4 years running...
What's great about it: Even with complex situation fed return was easy
What's not so great: MD state return had an odd issue

This has been so-oo much easier than reading the IRS instruction booklet and trying to figure out what they want you to do! That was agonizing! Thank you, TurboTax, for seven years of easier filing!
What's great about it: Did not have to try to translate IRS jargon!
What's not so great: trying to get PIN number from IRS for e-filing!

I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating a software like Turbo Tax. It's the ease of it that appeals to me and it seems pretty thorough in trying to find tax breaks.

I'm a CPA and have been using TurboTax for as long as it has been in existence and have never been disappointed. It is easy to use and is trustworthy, correct, accurate, and always up-to-date.
What's great about it: Nothing was left to chance; covered everything!
What's not so great: None noted.
