I had to process this 5 or 6 times to correct an error Turbo Tax made. It kept showing an estimated tax payment to the State & there was none. It cost me @ least an extra three hours I did not have. Two hours @ my job!!! I am not happy.

I've used TurboTax to do my own tax preparation for some years now. It's user-friendly and gives support information whenever I'm not sure about something. The update system is great. My tax situation is very straight-forward, but that wouldn't stop a tax preparation company from charging me big bucks just to use their own tax software, which is no better than TurboTax's. I'm a big fan...
What's great about it: walked me through but also let me skip directly into the parts I know
What's not so great: Would like a preview of what's on the horizon for next year's rules

I still use it. After many years, its still the best and worth the cost.
I wish turbo tax had a feature that allowed you to project your income/expenses for next year in order to figure out estimated tax for coming year - both federal and state.
What's great about it: Quick, easy to use
What's not so great: Hides too many details by not showing actual tax forms in normal mode.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Good with federal. State??

Problem with state was e-filing was not an option due to non residents. Due to this turbo tax is not very clear about how to print and file the state returns by mail. However once you complete the entire process for federal and print a copy for your records an instruction sheet will print for state filing with the package. ( A little late in the program in my opinion). Everything is there in the final print but be sure to print two copies. One to mail to the state and one for your records.
What's great about it: Very easy to go through the step by step process. Federal and State
What's not so great: A little difficult with state when e-filing is not an option

One example of a worksheet I'd like to change but can't find is the is the calculation for the quarterly 2014 1040-ES/V estimated tax payments. I can't find it when I go back and look.
What's great about it: Easy to use when I have all the information at hand.
What's not so great: I find it difficult to go back and change some information afer I've moved to the next section.

We have used TurboTax since a year or two before it was acquired by Intuit.
TT has evolved nicely. The Guided approach works well for those just starting out; the "I'll choose what to work on" option also works well for those who are more familiar with the program. The print options are extensive, the save to PDF is a nice feature. The review for Federal and State is helpful; the program catches even the smallest item, like a check-box, and lets you fix it. It's easy to move back and forth from the Step-by-Step view to the View specific forms view, and it remembers where you were. The program always ensures you Save your work and you re-start where you left off. We e-filed at 1:26 pm and had a sent-confirming email in 6 minutes; the past couple of years the "accepted" emails for state and federal were received within the 48-hour time-frame as promised.
Overall, a good and trusted product.

Easy Again

Had the usual good experience that keeps me coming back year after year. Product is reasonably priced and allows me to review all details prior to filing.
What's great about it: Easy to use and tracks year over year.
What's not so great: Help can be awkward at times, but mostly good.
