Can't see all calculations, such as age deduction or what personal deductions it is using. A real pain to print as you have to select the review of document after you have already selected the print of document. Auto spell check on this form as I am entering items is annoying.
What's great about it: easy to walk through, all entries auto adjusted
What's not so great: Doesn't let you see all entries, printing is a pain
I really like Turbo Tax. Very economical, questions step you through all possible tax deductions, you can complete a section at a time if you have to go back and dig through files to obtain information and very easy to e-file. It's great!
What's great about it: Question driven, easy to do a section at a time if you have to retreive information
I've used TurboTax for many years and will continue to do so.
I use my own EXCEL spreadsheet for calculating next year's Estimated Taxes. Turbo Tax obviously uses a completely erroneous basis for calculating future year's tax requirements.
What's great about it: Walk Through for All Required Input & Calculations
What's not so great: Extremely Poor Calculation for Estimated Taxes
I may be wrong but I found no way to print Its Deductible results for backup. I had to write values on each of my Excel donation sheets listing my items.
TT gets more difficult yearly.
What's not so great: Hate joint interest income format when not spouses.
Been using TT for over ten years... it seems to get more friendly each year, and I'm confident that it is the best of the lot.
I did have one issue with state sales tax. The forms were not ready and in the process of entering and confirming a large taxable purchase, I ended up with a double entry that did not show as two detail items. My gut told me that the deduction was overstated so I deleted all of the sales tax info and started again. OK the second time.
What's great about it: Carried info forward from last year... seemed easier this time
What's not so great: Minor issue with state sales tax
