WASN'T SATISFIED

I have been using Turbo Tax for a very long time and have been very satisfied. This year was disappointing and took several extra hours on my time to get the program to work on my computer. I will probably continue next year but if I have similar problems then I will find another software
What's great about it: normally very dependable
What's not so great: purch product from best buy, prod wouldn't allow me to update, the help desk was not very knowledgeable, took a long tim
TTax needs to improve the transmission process. I got errors that I needed updates, but every time I tried that, it told me there were No Tax Form Updates at This Time.
I've used TTax for many years and never had this type of problem before
What's great about it: easy to load information and very similar to prior years
What's not so great: extremely annoying issues regarding transmission errors; I worked nearly 2 hours to get my return transmitted
I was VERY disappointed when the TurboTax program/forms for Sales Tax and Schedule D Capital Gains computation were unavailable until March 5. The note/alert in the program (as I was using it since mid January) said it would be available December 31, 2013. This is terrible customer product availability for the product . If the IRS is still changing the law (which they were not this year) or the final format of the forms are not yet available from the IRS (which was not the case; I volunteer with the Taxwise program. Taxwise has been available since Feb 1 when I started working with those using the program) it is understandable. But that was NOT the case. You should have let your customers know what was happening and when the material would be available.
What's great about it: It's finished
What's not so great: No Sales Tax or Schedule D Cap Gains TurboTax product until early March
What happened to the W-2 import function? That was nice last year. I would also look at getting someone to read the questions for "simplicity." I use this tool because it makes it easier to do my taxed (compared to paper forms). However, when the questions that are asked become a double negative, it makes the tool harder to use.
What's great about it: Always easy to use.
What's not so great: Wanted to have the auto fill of the W-2 like last year. Don't know why it went away.
The software this year had so many issues with updating itself. It wasn't just me because you can go to the blogs and see this was a major problem this year. I do not think I will be using TurboTax again next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use when working...
What's not so great: Many technical issues with updating...
The very best of Turbo tax is the continued use year after year. When you file your first Turbo Tax all the required info about you is stored. From then on it is only necessary to update changes and new income info. All your info from previous years is already there. What could be easier. Additionally the software has been updated with the most current tax data available. Plus you have access to a database containing answers to tax questions so you don't have to reinvent the wheel. Outstanding product.
What's great about it: Detailed, step by step, or walk through with speed and accuracy
W-2 Box 14 selections better for me than in past. Interesting additional entries regarding ACA this year. Viewers take note of W-2 Box 12 regarding gross cost of employer provided health insurance
What's great about it: 'Updating' function less annoying this year. Tks
What's not so great: CD disk installation slower than in past as well as opening/continuing a return.
