THOROUGH TO A TEE

I used Turbo Tax several years ago and liked it but then went with another agency. The mistakes made would have never happened with Turbo Tax. I am glad to be back.
What's great about it: I really liked all of the questions asked and how the questions were phrased question to the right.
What's not so great: Not being 100% sure of some of my interpretations
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been using TurboTax since 1998 and every year it gets a little bit better. This year it was able to automatically download and complete forms for my income and investments. A few years ago I had to chase down cost basis information and type each line item in, but it's now the fastest and easiest part of the return.
Some friends of mine with simpler tax returns actually go to a third party and they are wasting their time and money. This year I got it all done (state and federal tax) in around four hours.
I'd recommend Turbotax to anyone that has a computer and internet access.
What's great about it: Clear and quick
What's not so great: Well, you still have to do some work.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Once I figured out how to get started the process was quick and easy.
What's great about it: Easy to work
What's not so great: Instructions once the CD is entered into the computer are lacking for "non computer people"

Didn't transfer income to city return

Income showed up as "$0" under city return. Additionally, there was no box in which to enter total income under the city return.
What's great about it: found credits that I didn't know I would get

I continue to use TurboTax year after year because it's easy, avoids cost of tax preparation services and my refund is maximized.
What's great about it: Step-by-step with great 'Help"
What's not so great: None

So easy to do you own. Unless you have a business or some unusual circumstance, save some money and use TT rather than hire someone.
