The software was very helpful in getting our family taxes done even though I haven't done our taxes for a few years. Pretty instructions to lead you step-by-step through the process. I wish more free tax help was available, but I was able to get the information I needed from a friend who is an accountant. It took awhile to get started, but once I had done one, the other taxes for those in our house were much easier to complete.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to complete even for someone new to doing taxes.
What's not so great: Would of liked a little more free help.
I've been used Turbo Tax for several years. I love how information from the previous year is carried forward into the new tax return. It makes it so much easier to get through the tax return.
What's great about it: Walks you through entire tax return step by step
What's not so great: Some explanations unclear
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
When I tried to print. The program took me to Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word did not format my return into readable text. This still happened no matter how I tried to reformat it.
I had to set up a PDF and open Adobe Reader to finally type out my return.
I hope Turbotax has a fix for this. I could not find one inside the TurboTax program to tell it to stop trying to access Microsoft Word. This has never happened before. The TT program always worked properly in the past. I don't know if I did it to this by mistake somehow! Is it a Microsort default? How can I get rid of that?
I may have to try out a new tax program in the future if this cannot be resolved. I do not want to. I've been a customer almost from the start of Turbotax. I hope they get back to me for a fix to this problem. It must have happened to others? Turbotax was the best.........................
What's great about it: Tax product is great except for 2013 printing error
What's not so great: What happened to the printing?
