2013 Income Tax

I think for the average person, the Turbo Tax package is very easy to use. Only when your investments include foreign and other peculiar situations, it can be confusing. Otherwise, great package.

Very Good Overall

The last time I paid someone to do my taxes, they opened their laptop, created a new Turbotax File, and entered everything I told them from my documents. I thought why pay someone to do that when I can do it myself and save hundreds! Been using Turbotax for many years and have been very happy with it.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use. Pulls in required information from internet.
What's not so great: Can be confusing at times - terminology can be a bit on the technical side vs. layman's terms.

Always a quality product for me

I have used TurboTax since it was Parsons Technologies . I would always make my husband do them when it was manual but when the software came out I jumped on it. I've used other tax packages before but always come back to TurboTax. It's like an old friend.
What's great about it: I like that you can skip all the questions and go straight to what you need to enter.
What's not so great: I found the IRA section a little confusing and I have done taxes for others for the past 4 yrs.

Makes a pro out of an amateur

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2002, when my tax returns consisted mainly of income from W-2 forms and dividends from simple interest accounts. Since that time my income has increased to investment income, tax free income, farm income, retirement income, IRA income, business income, and real estate income. I prepare all of my income tax reports myself, and , in spite of the complexety of the reports, I have never had any dificulty in preparing tax documents with my Turbotax programs, and I have never received so much as an inquiry from the IRS. I have also never paid more that the cost of the Turbotax Deluxe program to prepare my taxes.
What's great about it: Great program. Covers all aspects of complicated return and makes it simple to handle.
What's not so great: Can't really find any

Easy Peasy

I just love using Turbo Tax. It is not confusing at all. It takes you step by step through the whole process and it is such a great feeling to get the taxes done each year!!

Needs human factors review

The state filing form stated "Be sure to attach federal Schedule E if appropriate" TurboTax just calculated the tax requirements but the program is unable to provide direction if Schedule E is needed. Or how to determine if it is needed. Kind of says product is incomplete. And this review form has a number of hidden requirements not obvious until hitting submit.
What's great about it: Did the Job, maybe
What's not so great: Many areas were weak in feedback

I had to wait 2 weeks to get an ok to up date the software and fill in those missing sections on my CD.
What's great about it: finally getting to up date my turbo tax CD so that i could complete my tax form and submitte it.
What's not so great: I bought a turbo tax deluxe federal returns CD. When i loaded it into my computer there was no sign that it was not comp
