The above problem is a shared one due to the inconsistent data provided by the Partnerships and error correction options offered by TurboTax. For example, in one of my K-1's (Box 16 data) Country =Various with item D data (a dollar value) and in addition an F data value of 0. I selected and entered the F = 0 as a valid input. When I ran your "check for errors) program, I was told that since D and F were entered I must fill out the form for the second country. This was absurd since the problem causing F entry was 0.00.
What's great about it: As Usual TurboTax did the job with minimum aggravation. This
What's not so great: The way in which K-1's are processed with respect to boxes 13 and 16 is confusing.
I got through everything I needed to until I hit the section for sales tax deduction. Once there I was told the government had not completed these forms yet and they would send me an email letting me know when it was done. I never got an email and tried again 3 weeks later only to be told the same thing had occured. 5 weeks after starting my return I was able to complete it by clicking on the online tab in the toolbar and getting the program to update itself. In the past the program updated itself automatically each time you opened it but for some odd reason it no longer does that. If this is a bug in the programming it needs to be addressed. As a result of this I will have waited an unnecessary 5 extra weeks to receive my return and file my taxes.
What's great about it: Went through most everything with usual efficiency
What's not so great: Did not have the Sales Tax Deduction forms and didn't email when they were ready as promised
As in years past the step by step process was easy to follow and made the process go rather quickly. The only problem this year was entering the short & long term capital gains/losses. It was not clear that the form would automatically convert from short term to long term based on the dates entered. All in all, Turbo Tax makes tax filing almost painless.
What's great about it: Easy process going step by step
What's not so great: Not clear when recording short/long term capital gains
