Turbo Tax

Very easy to do it yourself even it's your first time user. Very friendly user interface, and very clear instructions and if you make a mistake it's very easy to correct without an effort. From filing tax form, efiling, sending form, it's very straight forward. All you have to do is to follow the instructions on screen and fill out information asked. When submit all you have to do is to check your email to see if it is accepted or not and follow instructions in your email to correct it. TurboTax is the best. Recommend other to use.
What's great about it: Very clear and easy instructions. Very consistent, no confusions. Great

Efficient and comprehensive

I like the fact that Ican plan to spend as much or as little time on my taxes each day. When the weather is bad or I feel like going back to preparing my taxes I open up the tax return exactly where i left off and start working again with out trying to figure where i was and what i missed. The automatic review and detail left me feeling confortable in that everything was covered and accurate. The electronic e-mail is wonderful especially for some one that doesn't have great computer skills
What's great about it: Easy to work with. I can do sa much as I want each day and pick up later exactly where I left off
What's not so great: Something about the 1099 form I don't understand and can't get help

estimated taxes

tried to eliminated estimated tax that i did not pay and it would not do it on the state tax

SImple and easy

I am actually a part time tax preparer and I still use turbo tax as it is all that I need.
What's great about it: inexpensive, quick and easy
What's not so great: forms can't be manipulated like more expensive software - but you get what you pay for
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Product

I have been using TurboTax/MacinTax for many years. The 2013 version did not disappoint. You can customize by choosing your own topics or you can let the program guide you through every topic. If you are in the same basic tax situation as the previous year, it fast and easy to import last years data and do a few quick updates and you are finished.

2013 Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax walks you thru the tax forms. There are still parts that are very confusing, and Turbo Tax does try to help in these areas. Unfortunately, sometimes it directs you to the IRS site which usually just further confuses the average person. Turbo tax is probably the next best to having a tax accountant with you. Next best unfortunately is not the best.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Tax filing still confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It was very frustrating not to be able to get the printed material and no one to call.
What's great about it: quick
What's not so great: couldn't get figures to print on document just got blank form without figures
