no e-file

Went through the entire program without problems. but when it went to e-file, it kept telling us it couldn't because we were missing an upgrade. Checked for upgrades and was told there were no upgrades. so one of these things was not like the other. the key factor in the simplicity of Turbotax was lost. Now i get to do the old fashion way of paper mailing my taxes.
What's great about it: simple program to use

Glitched when time to submit

I have used TT for two years now. This is the first year that I have encountered a problem. There was a glitch that did not allow me to submit the return. I figured that the best thing to do was to close out the program and resubmit. This worked but still makes me nervous about whether or not the correct information was sent? Was a blank return sent? Did the software understand that an update was NOT needed as it continued to request? Irritating, but I will use again.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate

I've been using turbo tax for years and swear by it, if you want to save a lot of money do taxes on your own with this software you will not regret it.
What's great about it: Helpful steps all the way thru process

Returns done easy!

I had this same problem last year....it should be very simple to follow the instructions and print the forms, however, when the forms come up to review, it is all garbage.
What's great about it: All screens easy to complete.
What's not so great: Cannot print copies.

Software is relatively easy to use for almost all people. This enabled me to file two federal returns and three state returns without having to utilize and outside preparer.
What's great about it: Being able to run through Federal and three state returns quickly.
What's not so great: Software glitch when electronically filing and having to call for help.

Works well with a few bugs

I like TurboTax and I have used it for years. But it seems like every year I hit one bug where something doesn't work. This year it said we did qualify for the Amer. Opportunity Credit. Well I downloaded the form and instructions from the internet I did qualify. Then I searched the help section and it told me to delete my student and start over. It all worked fine but it was a lot of extra work. Other than that, I like it. Thanks for trying to make it better!
What's great about it: Step by Step is easy and guides you well
What's not so great: I had problems with the American Opportunity Credit
