This year's edition of Turbotax was the most user friendly I have used. the only thing I didn't like was the fact that when you completed a section it always took you back to the top of the main screen. Then you must scroll down to the next section.
In general I am very happy with the software. I feel that some of the categories could be a little more specific with respect to instructions without having to proceed deeper into a category to find out that certain amounts should not be entered there. For example, I was unsure whether a 401k that was directly rolled over to an IRA should be entered as a distribution, even though it was non-taxable. I'm sure that Intuit is able to note the kinds of questions people ask in the Help center, and I'd hope that these questions are prospectively addressed in next year's version. A little extra instruction on the screen would not be difficult to include.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
The help area is poor. You need to consolidate the advice into FAQ so there is not a need to search multiple help questions hoping to find the one that get an answer. This makes the experience a poor one and makes w=me wonder if I want to continue using turbo tax.
