I'm a big kid now!

I am 35 and I have NEVER filed my own taxes. I've used tax preparers, my mother, & my sister-in-law to take care of them. This year I decided that being ignorant about my taxes is cowardly and ignorant and so I took that step and used turbo tax. It was easy. Too easy. Even with the double-check I had my mom look it over. Turbo Tax made that part nice too because I was able to email her the PDF snapshot of what I had done and sure enough, it was accurate. Thank you so much Turbo Tax, you've made me customer for life!
Please correct this problem with e filing on MAC. The return fails to validate, requesting an update, but all updates are downloaded. This is particularly troubling because the state only accepts e filing
We have used Turbo Tax for years! Yes, it takes longer than a trip to a chain-accountant-firm, but I KNOW that I have everything filled out accurately and have correctly entered my deductions. Our refunds continue to be better through Turbo Tax.
TurboTax is a great product for handling Federal and State income tax. It's easy guide method not only makes entry a snap, but it assures that you do not miss inputting important data that can greatly affect your tax calculation. I do not understand why so many people pay tax preparation businesses to do what can be done at home, especially when the home method most likely explains the process better than the consultant.
The only sections that I would like to see changes to are the Pension Income section and the Medical deduction area. In the Pension section I would like to see better wording on the selection options. I find the wording of the alternative selections to be a little confusing and it takes too much time to just select a standard private pension plan from the list of options. In the medical deduction area the only minor complaint that I have is that I would like to see the breakdown on categories for medical deductions listed prior to being asked for each independently. Providing the categories prior to entry would allow me to properly organize my medical deductions and avoid having to go back to remove some deductions entered into a prior category when I discover that there is a separate section devoted to that classification.
However, these suggestions are very minor when compared to the hours of tax preparation time saved by this program.
Used TurboTax for over 20 years and continue to give it good marks. Never used any other software so can't compare.
Step process is great but a little laborious. Rather have it to keep from missing something.
On state returns (NC) should highlight need to check retirement income as "Qualified". I was a little confused by the term and almost missed it. There is a $4000 deduction in NC for "Qualified" retirement income.
Like I said my first time efiling. I did not know how much time to wait on the filing email, but I do not. I did my taxes and just did not go on through all the efile instructions duh! The instructions are certainly there and I filed mine today without any problem.
