TurboTax makes doing taxes a piece of cake!

I have used TurboTax for several years. Friends have experimented with some of the others on the market. When we have compared our experiences, I have been very pleased that I stuck with TurboTax.
This section was very confusing. After I entered the information from my 1099-B's, the program changed entries with " various" purchased dates and moved the data from long term to short term. I thought I had entered the information in error. Turbo tax did not explained why. When I got through the section I had to go back and change it back .Turbo Tax needs to explain why it makes these changes at input time. I spent way more time on researching the reporting that I should, and I still don't know why it was changed.
There was a lot of material that didn't apply to me and caused a lot of reading. I was not put off to the extent that I know how it could have been simplified. Isn't there a version for a simple retire guy with no extras?
Gambling income is part of AGI and as such falls under the "Income tab". However, Gambling losses are listed on Schedule A which is part of the "Deductions tab". TurboTax has us entering Gambling losses immediately after entering the 1099-Gs for the winnings while we are still under the "INCOME tab"..........No problem except for the poor snook (like me) that got tired after entering all the 109s and saved the file and then came back 2 days later zand went dtraight to the DEDUCTIONS tab (which means I did NOT enter any gambling losses)........I discovered the error after receiving my return and had to do an amended return......all because TurboTax is programmed to enter G-losses immediately following entering winnings (I "assumed" that the losses would be entered under the DEDUCTION tab instead of the INCOME tab but by vthe time I sterted doing the deductions, I'd forgotten about the gambling losses and wound up screwing myself.
