Overall I had a good experience in doing my taxes this year through Turbo Tax. Update was seamless from year to year. There seems to be be more free options but still a push to add additional product. I updated before filing and the program had a hang up stating that there was an update still needed. I reopened the program the next morning, checked for updates (all good) and filed with no problem. That was the only technical glitch.
PLEASE, oh PLEASE go back to the previous version(s).. Version 2013 is a disaster, and I don't believe I'm alone in this critique given that so many customers appear to be asking the same questions in the Comment Section.
This year has caused me intense frustration & a week of lost time, expense of purchase of two copies ($98# and expense of Microsoft help #$99) not knowing at that time it was errors by Turbo Tax, not my computer.
All-in-all, it's taken a horrible toll on my health!
Picked up my previous year's address and SS information from the previous year's TurboTax entry. Simple process to input wages, 1099's and income. Actually downloaded my investment income data from Edward Jones and Fidelity automatically.
This process seems to get easier every year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
I've been using Turbo Tax since it came out to file my State and Federal Returns. It gets a lot easier to use each year and I am sold on it. It is the ONLY Tax Return Program I will use and recommend it to others. I've even recommended it to those I work with. It made it easier this year as all of my W-2 information was able to be downloaded into my return and did not have to fill each of those boxes in. Thank you Turbo Tax for a job well done.
