I've been using Turbotax for well over ten years. It is a breeze. Info needed from last year's return is automatically imported. Turbotax is the best way to prepare your taxes!
This year, they cut the bull and went straight for the finish line. It's never been so easy feeling. Some of the tax lingo is confusing but Intuit didn't make the stupid laws that even the IRS can't explain most of the time. I really feel at ease now that I am done with my taxes. No Rolaids, no Tums. This is the best version of TurboTax I have ever used. Everyone should try it.
You shouldn't do an update after I've been asked to fill in all the information ..... that should be done at the beginning, before we start entering information. The charitable contribution portion was very confusing after I filled in the info and then you did your updates and found errors.
As a first- time user of Turbo Tax and a "less than proficient" computer operator, I found I had no trouble navigating through forms. The prompts were "upbeat" and helpful. I also liked being able to save information and re-visit an area if I needed additional data or wished to make adjustments. My only disappointment was when I discovered I couldn't install the disc because I wasn't the administrator for our home computer. Tax preparer, yes; but computer administrator, no.
Second year for me using TurboTax. While my return is what I call simple, this software is also simple to use and a welcome relief from reading IRS regs and double/triple checking my math.
I do my Rita city tax thru their website, Turbo Tax asks for my info and it aways comes out wrong, this is why I'd rather it wasn't even there. Second: It took me 2 hours to get my State and Federal to submit, it kept going to Gov website and wanting me to get our passwords over and over. Not very confident this year and have been using Turbo Tax for 20+ yrs.
