Like others have already said and will continue to say here, I pulled the trigger and bought this little guy after months of homework doing side by side comparisons, studying consumer reviews, and educating myself on all the tech specs known to man. The LG G pad 8.3 came out the winner. Even after using the Dell Venue 8, Kindle Fire HDX 7", and Ipad Mini Retina. I decided this device encompassed all things great and amazing.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, multi user profiles

Good product but poor after sales support

This product is lovely, feels nice in the hand and performs pretty swiftly! Not many cases available though and the metal backing is a finger print magnet, which may bug you. Some of the LG bloatware needed removed as well, and most of the sales pitches (e.g. knock on are really just gimmicks, but quite nice ones I guess). It seems you cannot install apps to an SD card, which LG desperately needs to change in an update as this is a major issue for me. Additionally, the version of android is 4.2.2 (unless you bought the play store edition which comes with kit kat) which is now fairly old, so an update to kit kat would also be nice, but again, not curtial. Real shame about the SD card issue though... disappointing! Please fix/change this LG!
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

Great with one exception

I've had the V500 for about 2 months now, and with one exception I am super happy with the tablet. The screen is beautiful, snappy response with every touch and in every app, camera is decent, even LG's Android overlay is decent, and the pairing with LG phones (I have the G2, also very happy with that ,and will probably get another LG phone with upgrade) is pretty darn slick.
The one thing I am disappointed in is the battery. My last tablet was slow, the screen was dull (compared to the GPad), it hung up sometimes, but when it came to the battery that thing would chug along all night long. Some people will ask if I was running the same apps etc. The side by side was with the Netflix app while watching video with no other app up and running other than the background stuff you can't turn off. My other tablet's battery lasted at LEAST 2 hours more than the GPad. I don't use the GPad at work, it's just for home entertainment and connectivity etc, so this is in no way a deal breaker for me, but if you're a power user who will need a lot of video or heavy battery use work it may hamper you. Maybe I got a bad battery because I love every other aspect about this tablet, and once I drop and break it (that's how I'm tech horrible) I will probably buy another LG tablet.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, battery

I have four other tablets two 10"is one 7 " and 7.9" and I can clearly say after a good month of solid use, this is my preferred tab. Id like to see a 4.4.2 update soon to complete the dominance for this tab sometime soon (real soon)! The overall size is a good fit for me. The screen is great indoors. I'm assuming that's what its intended use is for because reflection is too sharp on bright sunny days. Gamma is a bit low and needs to be brighter to help define blacks and darks. The sound is great and so far gaming is good. Most of the more graphically intense games run pretty well.
Overall, this is the best tab ever seen in a similar form factor

Had the Nexus 7 2013. I really liked the Nexus but have found a better tablet in the LG 8.3. The LG is very fast and has a great fit and finish. Would highly recommend.

I find the size perfect for me to hold and use and it is nice and light weight.
The screen quality is excellent and i strongly recommend for watching movies.
The touch screen is fast and sensitive and the tablet as a whole never seems to get bogged dwon.
BUY ONE !!!!

More of a casual user, but quite impressed

I've bought many other tablets, but all of them for someone else. This is the first I've ever purchased for myself, and I'm glad I did. Very clear, sharp, and sturdy. Especially in the shell I bought along with it. Good battery life, for my usage (again, I don't use it every single day, but it seems to hold a charge well in standby), and the power saving feature (mine's set at 30%) lets the tablet perform quite well.
Only two things make me 'ding' it a bit, and one's the case or shell I bought with it. It is difficult to pull down the task bar from the top of the screen. Not a real issue, though, as I've added the 'pull down button' to the 'Home/Back/Menu" buttons at the bottom of the screen. The other issue I have is that there is no where I can find to stop the hotspot from timing out (when idle) after a few minutes, even when plugged in. It's a real hassle.
Overall though, I like this tablet. Thanks again, LG.

This tablet is not the "best" at any one thing. It doesn't have quite the top-end processor or the highest dpi screen, for example. But it brings together everything most could reasonably want in an Android tablet. The screen is extremely nice and at 1920 x 1200 it is as h-res as one could wish in an 8.3" tablet. The tablet is light and build quality is excellent. You can add a micro SD card to expand storage. I could wish for more custom accessories, but for me it isn't much problem.
