A great tablet at a decent price

Let me start by saying the 8.3 inch tablet is the perfect size for movies and gaming. It isn't too heavy fits great in the hands. The battery lasts very long even at full brightness and the screen quality is outstanding. I did need to send it in for repair more than once for the same issue which was a bright blue line going down the side of the screen which seemed like a common problem with early models. Since the problem was repaired I have had no issues and love the tablet.

Perfect size for the price.

I really like the size, it's not too big and it's not too small. It has some great features as well. My only complaint is that when you turn the tablet to go from portrait to landscape the response time is slow. There is a longer lag time then there should be when you turn the screen. Also, when you double tap the center of the screen to make the tablet sleep or wakeup it does not always respond. Sometimes I have to tap the screen multiple times before it responds, which should not be. Other then those two issues I really like my new tablet and look forward to using all the features it has.

A nice compromise size between 7" and 10"

I had used a Nook color 7" tablet for over 2 years before choosing the G pad. I was looking for something a little faster, a bit bigger, and better screen resolution. The G Pad excelled in all the above.
After using its little brother, the G2 phone, with nothing but praise for it, it just felt right going with an LG again. Additionally, it was the best choice in the 8" screen size, having the best resolution and processor power. I use the tablet for daily updates on the social sites, getting news and weather, reading books and doing crossword puzzles.
The screen is excellent. The speed has not been an issue for me, even though it's one step below the faster 800 on the G2 phone. The little extra screen real estate makes reading anything so much more pleasant than my old 7" Nook. And the nearly double resolution makes text and graphics easier to read, and pictures more enjoyable to view.
The speakers are adequate at best. They're ok for watching a youtube video, but not what I'd want to listen to music through. I don't use tablet for movies, preferring a real HD TV screen and stereo for them.
Battery life is ok. 6 hours plus on auto brightness set around 50%. I have found auto bright to sometimes be slow to respond to light changes, and sometimes not change at all without manually touching the percentage bar.Sometimes I might like the screen to be a little brighter, but keep it dimmer to stretch the battery life.
The LG launcher and add ons aren't a big plus for me. While Knock on is part of the features, it doesn't seem to work nearly as well as it does on the G2 phone. But that hasn't been an issue since i added a nice slim case that turns the screen off and on when opening and closing the case.
Q Pair seemed like a good idea. But I tried it and it didn't seem to just work. And I haven't felt compelled to figure out why or why not. I did add the My SMS app so that I can text from phone or tablet interchangeably.
So in summary I think LG got more right than wrong with this product. There are places it could be better, but at this writing, I think it's the best 8" tablet out there

Love everything about this tablet, except I wish non-glare screen protectors were available. It's like using a mirror outdoors.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

May be the best 8" able for the money

The tablet is loaded with features. The screen is beautiful and the price beats the competition. I had a nexus 7 and the this machine has a St slot, bigger screen, and is more powerful. Well built.
2 issues:
The remote software is weak. A programable function would be amazing.
The SSD had issues with the 4.4.2 update. It was fixed with a procedure available with the LG PC suite (a great addition that no one else offers).

Super screen, fast performance

I lost my Nexus 7 to Lollipop and had to pickup another tablet, fast. I found this product at Sam's and love it. It performs fast with good wifi reception. The screen resolution is a big improvement over the Nexus 7. Since I am in my 60's I love the improved size of the screen the ease of entering text/data.
I found a cover/case designed to fit the 8.3.

I love my LG G Pad 8.3
on January 28, 2015

My LG G Pad 8.3 does everything I want it to do. It is very well made, has great video and is very fast for my needs. I like the way it works in conjunction with my LG smartphone, lets me know when I get a phone call and allows me to answer Text messages that I have received from the phone. I also like the ability to use a micro SD card for storage. I have a 64gb card installed with all my music, picture and videos.
The 8.3 screen size is almost perfect, to to big and not to small. The screen resolution looks great when watching online videos from Hulu and Netflix. The versatility of the tablet lets me do almost everything I need to do, and many things I never thought of before I owned this tablet. I'm finding new uses every day. I find the battery life is good for my normal daily use. I charge my tablet every night at bed time and it always lasts me through the next following day.
I highly recommend the LG G Pad 8.3 to all my friends and family.
