DISAPPOINTED IN NEW FEED SYSTEM

I replaced an older 11 x 17 all in one (MFC6890CDW) with this printer. Canon changed the feed system to load from the long edge. I assume this saves footprint space. It works great on full sheets of paper, but if you want to print checks, say from Quicken, it will not work on less that a full sheet of checks. I called Technical Support several times and finally, after a few run arounds, was informed that it would not print checks. Sadly, I had to return it to the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Printing 11 x 17

The MFC-J6920DW does not print full image on 11 x 17 size sheet, due to Brothers printer and Adobe reader are not compatible. I had to use Paper Port SE in order to print full image in 11 x 17 sheet. Brothers needs to get this fix.

Good printer

Rating this printer 4/5 is mostly because of the functionality it adds to a home office. Ledger size, legal and letter printing options truly make this printer worth the price tag. It was cheaper than my previous printer that didn't have those options. The printing and color are average but it does the job well enough.

I replaced an HP and this machine is noisier and slower but it gets the job done. The support so far has been superb.

I have purchased many MFC bother printers in the past and they have all met our work demands.
Very happy with the 2 trays and ability to print with out changing the paper each time. Ink is very efficient.
Size of the machine is perfect.

We bought a brand new brother printer, used it maybe 3 times and it broke. It wouldnt turn on.
I had to go thru a major hassle with the approval process to get it fixed or replaced, Brother said i could have it replaced "not with a new unit, but with a refurbished unit" So i declined.
I took it to the approved fixer shop in SF, that was only open at random hours. They had the machine for 2 full months, waiting for Brother to ship the mother board to them. Finally it came. Had I known it would take that long, I would have chose the refurbished replacement.

Nothing should fail after only a few uses. Nothing should take so long to repair.
