We bought this for printing on large size paper.
And for the scanning features. It is easy to use and to set up.

Partially acceptable product

The printer and copier work well.
The machine has a big footprint.
The problem is that the scanning is useless. If you set the DPI low, the quality is unacceptable. If you set the DPI high enough for good quality the size of the PDF document produced is HUGE and makes sending as an attachment impossible. I had to buy a small scanner and place it next to the Brother printer.

Unhappy with capabilities

Even though this printer prints up to 11 x 17 page size it will only print on legal or letter size paper from the tray. Larger size must be fed single sheet from the back of the machine. You can not designate paper size for special products. I am definitely disapointed in the lack of versatility for this machine. Paper loading is complicated also.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Small Business & Personal Printer

The MFC-J6920DW is an excellent "all in one" type of printer for the home and small business. The scanning to pdf capabilities are impressive. Single sided and double sided paper may be scanned and saved as a pdf or the fiile can be e-mailed to a client or friend. The print function has a "save ink" function that does reduce the amount of ink used to print, probably about 25% less ink. Printed pages made by using the "save ink" mode are very legible. These are jut two of the many nice features of this compact printer.

I have so far been impressed with the 6920. It meets all of my expectations. I bought this because I have a Brother fax machine that has lasted for years without issue. The only problem that I have had with the 6920 was on initial setup. It would not recognize my usb cable, so I set it up through my network using an Ethernet cable. Works great! Good clarity on the color copies and fast.
I would recommend this to a friend!
