I like the machine. The copies are clear and of good quality, but it's slow and what an ink guzzler. Wow. It's going to take me broke replacing cartridges.

Great Printer for a Small Office

Great Printer for a small office. This printer is great for offices that need 11" x 17" capability. There are only a few printers on the market that will print to the 11" x 17" format and this one works great. I would definitely recommend this printer to a friend or small business.

Versatile machine.

The machine seems to be a fine machine but, the setup was overly complicated even though a manual came with it. A problem with setting up the wireless network could have been resolved very easily with a minor update in the code.

Makes my ife easier

This equipment allows me to print readable drawings for my clients without schlepping to the print store. I am an architect. I can print 11x17 progress sets for myself and for clients. Very helpful. They are large enough to see details, but small enough to be portable. I am able to charge clients for these progress sets, as I would for full 24x36 sheets, thus offsetting some of my overhead. I did have to get it repaired once, which was VERY inconvenient, but it was still under warranty and free of charge.

I am so pleased with this product. I have had a b/w Brother Laser Printer since 2006 which has been excellent. This new printer replaced another manufacturer's multi-function printer. The reason I changed to the Brother Inkjet was because of my continuing excellent experience with the Brother Laser printer. All the facets of this printer are excellent - fax, copy, scan, print +. It is quiet, energy efficient. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Decent but finicky

The printer is fairly easy to use but envelopes are a real problem. The manual feed tray at the back of the printer NEVER picks up an envelope when I want it to. I have to stand at the printer and put pressure on the envelope while it is accepting the print job. Sometimes this works. Sometimes it doesn't. I can always load them into a paper tray but I never print enough of them to just leave them in a tray full time. The envelopes will also not print very close to the left hand edge. Anything closer than 3/4" from the left edge will be cropped off. This makes for a strange looking return address on the envelope. I don't understand this at all because I can print on regular paper right up to or closer to the edge. Trust me, I've tried everything to get this to work better but to no avail. The ink seems to get clogged up rather quickly also. Even when only using Brother ink. The scanning capabilities are nice and seem to work great. Print quality is very good when the ink isn't semi-clogged. The footprint is decent but still a little bulky.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
