The SCAN feature from the printer can not be preset and must be set each time when scanning from the printer. The Short cut on the Printer does not save any settings, only the computer you awant to send the scan to. Extra functionality exist on the Printer but the Control Center 4 Software does NOT allow for it to be setup. Mechanically the printer supports more than the Software supports. The Software implementation for setting up the printer is incomplete. Multiple calls to customer service have confirmed the Short comings and the response was they have no plans to implement the missing functionality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After a few weeks, it does everything I've asked it to. I've printed a lot of 11x17 black & white (music scores) and a few photos (also 11x17) and everything has come out very well. Photos, both black & white and color, reproduced very well even when enlarged from small computer images to 11x17. My only criticism so far is that black & white text is too light.

I've scanned, copied, printed over the wire and wireless from my tower, iPad and iPhone. General printing functions work fine, and overall I am pleased with the printer. Not completely thrilled with design of the Aux Feed for 11x17 and envelopes - too many jams and paper doesn't always feed straight because the Aux tray has a very short foot-print. I can get it to work, but it requires a bit more finesse than should be required.

I'v had this printer for a few weeks. My old Epson had died. I do a lot of B&W printing so I opted for ordering the extra large ink cartridges. Finally figured out how to put them in. Instructions are mediocre. I love the huge scanning bed. I often use 11 X 14 legal for genealogical information. Have to get use to the different way it takes 8.5 X 11 paper. Larger footprint than my smaller Epson, no problem. Software is an issue. Not able to make the printing darker if something is being printed from the computer that's too light or try to scan it darker. Also, color printing at it's best onto plain paper is poor. Glad I didn't buy it for that. Printed from my iPhone and my computer and they were very different. Have to use my computer for that now. Haven't faxed from it yet though so no report yet. My opinion: It works OK for getting by. Lots of room. Lots of ink. Fast and efficient somewhat. Needs better software to allow you to darken the printing option before printer initiates the copy.

I was amazed at the speed of this printer and the easiness to set up and if have any problems support are there to help (once the language is understood).connected to both computers and phones pretty easy.

The two trays are such a time-saver! Paper feed has been flawless, and ink cartridge life is just outstanding. This printer has become the workhorse of our 3 terminal office. Kudos on an excellent product!
