Set Up Not Easy

Initially I did the full set up with Paper Port. That was a mistake. It really slowed my system down and is much too complex for my home use. Also had a lot of trouble getting scan to work. Wouldn't function with just a wireless install. Had to use a USB cable to get it going. And don't like the limitation of using plain paper only to print 2-sided. Why can't you use the inkjet setting? Got this printer with a huge discount through Costco. Probably should have looked for a smaller printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Printer for the Price & Great Tech Support!!

I'm an IT professional & I really like this printer. I had one for about 5 months & got a paper jam error that I couldn't fix & called tech support. After a flashlight, a can of air & 3 attempts to clean, Brother sent a warranty replacement that arrived in 2 days. I was told I'd just get a basic model that I would have to keep my paper trays & other extras from the old machine. Instead of sending a basic unit, to my surprise, I got a brand new machine, & not a refurbished one complete with ink, manuals, & paper trays & all I had to do was put the old one in a box & slap the prepaid label on the box & call UPS for pick-up. This is my 2nd Brother (not counting the replaced one) and I've bought one for my mom & have never had a problem with any of them until this one error message. Loved Joe in tech support. I wish I could join him in the Dominican Republic for a bonfire on the beach & a fruity rum drink but I can't so he promised to do that for me so it's "almost" as good as being there! Great printer, great price, & GREAT tech support! You can't go wrong with this printer/fax/scanner...

Productivity for an Awesome price

I have several brother printers after having unsuccessful experiences with HP, Kodak and Epson and for the price and portability this is the best one I have found. It it light enough to move and efficient enough to provide for my needs.

do a lot of scroll saw fretwork. great having the capability to make 11 x 14 and 11 x 17 copies of patterns

EXCELLENT PRINTER, I AM VERY PLEASE WITH IT, I HAVE RUN APPROX. 2500 PAGES THROUGH IT SO FAR AND I LIKE IT. ONLY SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE TO MAKE THE SCAN TO EMAIL FEATURE A LITTLE BETTER & EASIER TO USE, OTHER THAN THAT IT DOES THE JOB VERY WELL!

My new favorite

I like this printer so much that I now have 3 of them. As a small business operator dealing with construction, I need a printer that will easily and quickly print 11" x 17" tabloid and 11" x !4" legal for leases, etc. Feeding one sheet of 11 x 17 at a time is not an option and this baby holds a ton of it in the bottom tray. Just like any ink jet, frequent use keeps it printing well. I've owned every kind of printer on the market and this is my new favorite.

The printer works as advertised and is flawless. I love the speed but I particularly love the document feeders flawless operation while scanning two sided documents.

Nice print quality, but...

First printer died, but Brother replaced FAST at no charge, A++ for that! It prints fast, and result looks very good. Ink is the most inexpensive I've seen & the Ultra High Yield is excellent. However, it will feed too many sheets, causing misprints...wasting paper & ink. Frustrating when doing a large quantity of same copies, say 25. Will lose 5 or more copies out of 25. Tried all forms of paper adjustment, fanning paper...no luck. Have to watch the printing as it works, would not buy again.
