I like the printer and scanner but I have trouble with it grabbing multiple sheets of paper. It is particularly annoying when I am printing checks. It doesn't matter how I fan the paper or when I reorder the checks individually. It will still grab more than one sheet. I may have to go back to HP if it doesn't get better. I have other Brother printers and they work great.

LOYAL CUSTOMER DISAPPOINTED BROTHER MFC-J6920DW

I'm a small business owner & loyal brother customer. I prefer Brother because Brother supports American jobs & we have two other Brother printers in our office, an HL-5140 & an HL-5250DN, which are hands down the two best performing printers we've ever owned.
We've been using an HP L-7680 printer, scanner, copier, fax for about seven years & after ten thousand or more copies & scans, the document feeder finally failed. We decided to replace the L-7680 with a new Brother MFC-J6920DW Business Smart Pro Series printer, scanner, copier, & fax.
We purchased it for (3) reasons, cost-effective color printing, high quality & high speed document scanning, & 11" x 17" printing & scanning capability. We've had the J6920DW for about three months now & we do very little color printing & the ink cartridges are already half empty. The color printing & color scanning is horrific quality, dark blue document signatures scan in aqua blue. Last & most frustrating, the feeder jams every two to three uses, even with very clean, crisp paper.
I can't even find the words to express my disappointment & frustration with this machine. We're shopping for a replacement, most likely the HP model that replaced the L-7680.

Printing Problems

I have a MFC J6920DW printer using Adobe X and Windows 7 -64. The new driver is no longer compatible with Adobe and will no longer print to a scale. My previous machine MFC 6490 CW work perfectly prior to changing printers. Brother's tech support position is it is an Adobe Acrobat problem and will not repair their new driver even though their old driver worked fine. So scaling using Adobe acrobat will not work in this product.

I thought when I purchased this machine that I was getting the best as I have inall other Brother products that I have used. But I have maybe misunderstood some of the things I thought it could do, and I have had problems with some of the things its supposed to do.. I for instance use some of the paper sizes that I am unable to use with this machine, and I have had isssues with the ADF and printing from the PC.I have used the MFC-J5910DW for several years with great success, but I wanted a printer for larger documents and I should have examined the specs of this one closer before making the purchase.

I have the older version of this printer - the 6890 and it has always been good - so when it came time to replace an HP that has been nothing but trouble we bought this one Fast, reliable, excellent sheet feeder, good print quality. The multiple contact methods are great. Could not be happier

Love it, but...

In general, we love the new printer. Quiet and efficient and very economical on ink. Only one small problem. The reason I bought the new printer was it's ability to make 11"x17" prints. No way to load more than one sheet at a time?
Advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for your review. The MFC-J6920DW features expandable dual trays that accept up to 11”x17” with 250-sheet paper capacity in each tray (500 total). A single sheet bypass tray also accepts up to 11”x17.

I purchased this printer in Januray. Was just able to unpack and set up. I was so excited to start using my new machine. I had difficulty from the beginning. I spent many hours on the phone with Brother, Windows and Microsoft. I thought all the problems were solved but when I went to print a document from my computer I continually get an error message. I am very disappointed with this machine. I have always used a Brother printer. This is the first one that I am not happy wth. I am not sure if there is a defect in this printer or not. The copying part is my only salvation. I am enjoying being able to copy 2 sided. This has saved me time and energy.
