Good little flash that doubles as a remote shutter

I bought this to go on my EOS M a few years ago as opposed to the tiny 90 EX. I wanted something small but not that small. The head tilts up to bounce and manually zooms (pull it out) for telephoto. It can be used as a slave and remote shutter trigger too. Recycle time isn't too bad considering it uses two AA batteries. Generally faster than the built in flash. Very good build quality.
For the size and price this is a pretty good flash but don't expect performance of a 580 EX II or 600 EX out of it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the third refurbished item from Canon & it works perfectly!! Can not tell it’s refurbished. Love that it’s compact & light weight. Doesn’t throw off the balance of my camera, like some if the bigger, regular sized external flashes.

I purchased this flash due to the size for my full frame camera and I was pleased with the results. The flash is powerful yet compact.

Canon Speedlight 270EX II

I purchased this small but mighty Speedlight because my 5D Mark III doesn't have a built-in flash.
I already have a 580EX II, but don't always need the 'big-guns', with all of the manual overides and fuul power etc.
The 270EX II is TTL compatible, but there are no manual overides or pretty much anything but an on/off switch and a slave feature.
Great for 15' and less, bounce (but no tilt-swivel), fill-in flash etc. Nice build quality, but with two AA batteries, the recycle time could be better.
Recommend either Lithium AA or 2900 Mah NiMH rechargeables.
I like it very much - for what it is.
Pros: quiet, Good Exposure performance, Superior build quality, pretty good value
Cons: Slow recycling time

nice fill in flash

I bought this flash as a fill in flash for travel. I do not use flash a lot - my Canon 5D Mark III has very high ISO range. But sometimes it helps. The build is solid, the control is simple. In case of Mark III you can fully control the flash from the camera - put in manual mode (1-1/64), slow sync, etc. Most of the typical features for Speedlight flash. Another feature I found useful I can use this flash as a remote control for my camera. So if I am shooting from a tripod I don't need to carry any additional remote switch! Useful. When I don't need many lenses and just attach 24-105 to the body, it fits nicely in Lowerpro TLZ1 together with my camera and GPS unit. So I highly recommend this flash. I have other flashes, but they are too bulky for travel with a small bag.
Pros: quiet, Superior build quality

Useful and Lightweight

I use this for fill flash on indoor portraits. It's useful as a slave unit as well. I like the small size and light weight of this product. My camera body can wirelessly control this flash, which eliminates the need for an extension cable for close up and creative lighting. Also, this flash can remotely control the shutter on my camera. This speedlite is a good addition to my equipment and I'm very happy with it.
