I am very happy with the 5 serving removable plate grill. Much easier to clean than the original. So far, it is performing as the advertisements I found said it would. I recommend it to anyone.

The first time I used the grill I cooked a 3/4 inch strip steak for 15 minutes and it came out perfect and I can't cook. A frozen hamburger patty 10 minutes or less. I think it is a stretch to say this grill would be suitable for a family of five. Also I would like to have some guidance on what I can cook and cooking times. The grill plates are so easy to clean. They just snap out and with the non-stick surface can be cleaned in seconds.

Broke the first time I used it

The grill cooked my steak great. But, when I went to clean it one of the plastic handles that hold the grill plates on broke. They are made of cheap thin plastic and now that I look at them it was probably only a matter of time before they were going to break. Now the grill plates won't attach to the unit itself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Successful Gift

Daughter has had GF's in the past. Gifted her with this one and she loves it. Great product. The floating hinge is an asset with thicker cuts of meat. The plates easily come out for washing in the dishwasher. She says the "power light" is a plus. The only thing she could suggest to improve on it would be a beeper to let you know when it has reached cooking temperature.

Quality has gone down

I have owned many George forman grills from the very first one advertised on tv to this one. The removable plates was the best idea they had but the quality on this one which I just purchased is poor at best. When you open it up the top plate almost falls off because the tongs weren't bent correctly. This could be a safety defect, if it falls of while hot could burn someone. I just tossed out an old one version of this size, and I wish I kept the old top plate. Also even bigger a disappointment is the length of cord on it. roughly 2ft long doesn't reach anywhere I need it. Pretty much got to have an extension cord to use it. WHOEVER'S COST SAVING IDEA THAT WAS SHOULD BE FIRED. If the larger ones have the same length that would be even worse. I will be watching for this in future purchases. Materials used in it have gone to cheaper plastic as well. The old one weighed much more and felt more solid even after using it for 8 yrs.
As a side note to the manufacturer. I hate the steak plates you made a few years back. they were a pain to clean. I am glad to see this model did not have that as a top plate.

This Grill is Awesome!

Just replaced my second GF Champ grill with this 5 serving grill and I absolutely love it! It cooks great and the teflon coating is hands down more superior than the old grills. The removable plates are a breeze to clean. I would definitley recommend this grill to everyone. I just love it.
