I compared this unit to a Logitech 715i and the Soundfreaq SQ-1 and found it to be sonically superior. Both the Logitech and SF employ some form of signal processing that broadens stereo separation and the sound field. While this sounded fine initially, after some continued listening I found them sounding overly modified and artificial. It actually became tiresome to listen to. This was even more noticeable at higher volumes, where the sound shaping muddied the sonic resonance. The Logitech offers no options for changing the sound – you get what it gives. The SF has a sound field setting and bass/treble controls that offer more range of effect. Despite this, the SF’s sound didn’t seem to carry the same weight as the Tango’s. I think the Logitech and SF are good products, but best suited to low to moderate volumes and close distances (would be great on the office desk). My Tango sits on a kitchen shelf and fills the room with clean sound and surprisingly solid low end – it’s not room shaking, but I definitely feel a satisfying mid-bass punch in the floor – something neither the Logitech nor SF created. The Tango comes with a very nice remote and an iPhone app with 5 EQ presents – you can customize the 5-band EQ settings as well. After a little tweaking, I really love the sound this unit puts out. The company includes a separate stand-alone charging base that keeps the phone close for remote listening via Bluetooth. Sound quality using Bluetooth is slightly diminished (most noticeably a bit quieter) but not enough to dismiss the convenience. The Tango is also very attractive (at least to me – I like the minimalist design) and sturdily built, which likely enhances its low end resonance. A couple complaints – no FM receiver (which at $180 it really should have) and the buttons on the unit don’t always respond to the first touch (but settings are changed effortlessly by the high quality remote). It all depends on your listening preference and environment (of course!) but for me, the Tango hits all the right notes for the reasons mentioned above – especially if you can get it for under $150.

What's great about it: clear sound, loudness for price/ size
What's not so great: not as loud/ bassy as The Beats Boombox, not as clear highs as the TDK boombox
The Beats Boombox is 40% louder. Both sound very similar.
I like this Tango for clear sound, and loudness... but it doesn't suffice people who need to jam to very loud music! People who buy it for $100 will like it if they are not into the very high loudness of a jam-factor.

It's perfect loudness for a small bathroom, if you are like me, and need to jam to higher amped speakers. The Beats Boombox is good for that.. which is in my empty carpeted two-car garage-room.
For a bedroom/ living room, you want to go with Best Buy's Definitive Technology 'Tower' Speakers... those Jam like your at a concert.

What's not so great: Cannot be used with an outlet.
I was able to pick up one of the last units in the store. The sound is excellent and the remote is very helpful. The charging pod is a little difficult to dock but it is not a big issue.

I read the ExtremeMac (5 stars) Tango reviews and decided I'd give it a try. I was going to go with airport express wireless router and airplay system. Glad I didn't -- and went with the Tango Iphone/Itouch dock with speakers that has better sound than Bose for 1/2 the money.
The Tango has bluetooth connectivity so you don't even have to dock it to play through the Tango speakers. Just go to your music on your iphone/touch and play. It comes with a separate dock you can charge the iphone/itouch and play via bluetooth... or use it just to charge you iphone/touch. There are three sources for input. Iphone/pad doc, Bluetooth, Aux. (for the TV). Just select the source either on the speakers or from the remote that comes with it. Great product!

What's not so great: Nothing so far.....
I am very picky when it comes to music and the sound quality. This unit surprised and totally pleased me. I cranked it as loud as it would go just to test it and it's amazing. The fact that it charges my iphone while using it and it has a remote really sold me. Just bought unit so can't speak to the durability, but it is sturdy.

What's great about it: Full, clear sound quality
This speaker puts out a great deal of sound for such a little thing. I was impressed with the clarity. I can stream my iTunes from my computer through my iPad2. The iPad2 can dock though it's a little clumsy. I can also dock my iPod and charge it while charging another iPod on the extra dock. The app allows you to control it from anywhere the bluetooth will reach! Love this gadget!

What's great about it: 'Best' unit out there for $100. (2Tweeters,2Mids, Subwoofer).
What's not so great: Bass is not perfect, but acceptable at this price point.
This speaker dock is really nice and it 's worth the money, I paid $100 on sale so get it now at Best Buy! My only complaint is the bass is not really deep but what can you expect for the low price. I think it is comparable to the Bose units at a third of the price. It is #1 in my book for units under $200. It has a cool remote that controls the volume and bass, treble. It will fast forward on Pandora too how slick is that. Inputs for another device, blue tooth for the other (additional) iphone dock too. I have a iphone 4s but I read it will work with ipad 1 & 2 so go get one for your home or garage before there gone!

What's not so great: Occasionally the wireless signal may go in and out depending on how much interference there is in your area.
I was researching I-dock speaker systems for my teenage daughter. Although they don't carry this one in store where I live and I had to order it online, based on the previous reviews I knew I had to take a chance on it. She originally wanted one of the cute small ones that light up or have a clock on it. They market those to appeal to teenagers but based on my experiences, they don't sound nearly as good. So I took a leap of faith and purchased this one. She opened it and was very excited to first be getting the speaker system and second finding out what it does amazed her. It has a downloadable app, free I might add, that allows you to play your music from your i-pod or i-phone wirelessly vis bluetooth. It was very easy to activate and we were playing music within seconds. I also purchased the 2 year warranty just to be on the safe side. I would strongly recommend this item for purchase. Oh by the way, the sound is fantastic! It is a heck of a lot louder than you might think based on its size.

I read the prior reviews and decided to try this one over the Bose system I was considering. I just hooked it up and downloaded the remote app. It sounds better than my much more expensive stereo system! I carried my phone into the back bedroom, and it continued to have wonderful sound though the wireless transmission! This was, by far, the BEST birthday present I received! My husband was happy that the gift I chose was also the most affordable one out of the units we were looking at.

I absolutely love this machine. So easy to work with and the sound quality is fantastic. Very easily fits on a lot of surfaces and the reach of the sound is great. Would definitely recommend this product.

I originally purchased a bose system for my house and when i got home the system failed to be able to be used with my ipod. So i went back and found this product and i decided to try it out.. Let me tell you its the best mps player out there for apple products. you can use bluetooth to play music. there is even an app so you can control the unit. I have had the product for over a month and i am very happy with it. its sounds great and the bass and the treble are great alos and produces a lot of sound

I didn't indicate a rating for "durability", since I've only had this a few days. I'm a professional musician, so am perhaps more sensitive to "sound issues" than the average person. This system is FABULOUS. Really great sound - the ability to manipulate levels of treble, bass, etc., is a "plus". It is perfect for an apartment or large room. I have NOT tried it with all the levels at max, to blast out a room. But if you're looking for a compact, user-friendly, high-quality sound to fill a room or small to medium-sized space, you will love this. I think it's one of the best purchases I've made in recent months.

Aye i just bought this for the i pad 2day and let me tell you for an office or small room. This is the best value for the buck! @150$ it will dock the i pad 1 & 2. Sound clarity and bass response is very Impressive with the bass & treble dials all the way up @ low and maximum listening levels. Highly recommended!!!
