Very S-L-O-W flow compared to original filter

The original GE SmartWater filters worked well with good flow and minimal problems with making ice or filling a glass of water in a timely fashion. Since the original filter line was superceded by the MWFP the flow is about half as strong and we now have problems with icemaker (small cubes, ice forming at level detector, etc.) Anyone else having slow flow issues after switching to the MWFP filter?

Filter failed and flooded fridge and floor!

I have faithfully replaced this filter every 6 months for over 5 years, today, on Thanksgiving of all days, I wake up to my kitchen flooded! It looked like the filter failed and busted open leaving the contents of the fridge and the floor flooded. The filter was replaced on July 17th, so only 4 months old. Water was spewing out of the area where it separated, see photo. I have never had any previous issues, it wasn't overtightened, it appeared to work properly until today, now my day and my floor are ruined.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Every three months OR less this filter will S L O W down to almost a drizzle.

I am not sure what to do next - I am using my old filter - the new one clogged the water flow. I called and was convinced I did not have a proper filter - I just came online to buy a 'true' filter -- the above image is of the filter I have that does not work!

Have been getting filters for the fridge a few years, but the quality of this filter seems to have deteriorated the last couple of times I replaced it or GE wants you to replace filter more often. The one I got lasted only a month. Whatever the reason, I am very disappointed and is going to bypass the filter and install a RO system behind the fridge. Tired of replacing filters often.

Sadly disappointed

We have had our GE refrigerator for almost 2 years and it is serving us well. We are disappointed in the service life of our most recent filter. Within 6 weeks of putting in a new filter, we are seeing signs that we need to change it ALREADY. The water pressure is decreasing and the ice cubes are smaller. We have a whole house water filter, so this filter is not the original point of filtration. It is the 2nd point of filtration. So, one would think the refrigerator filter would last longer.

Does not fit!!

These filters do not fit my 2010 side by side refrigerator. The opening of the filter is 1/16” smaller than the original MWF filters. I am getting the same responses that MWFP filters are the new ones to use, but agin they say MWF on the outside of the filter and the opening is smaller. What filter fits?????
