The product I received is so poorly manufactured that I have to wonder if it is counterfeit. Metal parts are bent, warped and poorly fitted.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This has been a good grill, It is definately not made as sturdy as they used to be but for the price it works very well.

We bought this product about 2 years ago and it is better than any other grill we had before. It actually turns on with the ignitor after a 2 years! The rack is rusting, however so we will have to buy another rack soon. Good product for the money.

This is my second summer using this grill. It operates fine most of the time, but there are some issues. The igniter works most of the time, but not all of the time. The grates warp quite a bit and sag in the middle, placing them almost touching the burner shields. This happened when I first bought it and thinking the grate was defective, I ordered another one, but with the same results. They cannot withstand the "preheat" temps. The lid was fine until this year. Now it goes so far back, that the warming rack collapes down almost on top of the cooking grate. In this position, I cannot clean the grates with the grill brush, or place food at the back of the grate. This reduces my cooking surface area. One last thing is the handle. When bringing the grill up to pre-heat temps (and I always do this for better searing) the handle gets too hot to handle without a oven mitt or hot pad.
If the cooking grates could be a bit more durable and the issues with the hinges (I've seen several complaints about this) fixed, this would be a great grill. For the money paid, I thought it would be much better quality. But it's usable and it gets used almost daily.

Falling apart...

Really pretty poor quality. I understand that grills don't last that long anymore but within a year, paint peeling like crazy on the inside of the cover, I had to replace the top rack, and the lower racks completely rusted twice. I'd really think twice before getting a CharBroil grill again.

Not happy at all grates rusted within the first few months , paint chipping off under the hood on to the food . Replacements are way to expensive :(

We're sorry to hear of the issues encountered. How are you normally cleaning your grill? We recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. The inside of the grill lid is not painted. This would be carbon chipping or flaking off and can be removed with a soapy damp cloth. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

Poor performance

The product was shipped to us. The porcelain grill grates were already cracked. The have desentagrated. Literally.. The center burner stopped working before the first year was up. Very flimsy in overall design. Handle gets very hot. The secondary rack which holds the lid up... Doesn't.. Real disappointment... Really cheap quality.

Easy Assembly and Great Size

I just bought this prodcut a couple weeks ago and just had it put together. Only took about 30 mins to assemble. Very pleased with how quick it heated up to temp. Definitely recommend for price and size for a few people.
