Great Buy

This is my first tablet so I don't have anything to compare it with. However, after using it for just over a month I can't fault it. Does everything that it supposed to do and even though I am over 60 have no trouble with the screen resolution. Nice and sharp for me.
All in all couldn't be happier with it. Glad I bought it despite some of the negative reviews that I read.

i bought a Yoga Tablet 8 last year and have been getting good mileage out of mine.
pro.
great battery life! really much longer than others although i only use it in my house.
i like the kick stand a lot. i have 2 Samsung tablets in the house and i had to pay for a 30 dollar stand to keep them propped up.
cons.
the screen resolution i snot as high as some others i have seen.
one side of the product is very thin and i am afraid that the screen might crack if its dropped on the floor.

The Good, the Bad, the Tablet 8

I was pretty excited to get the Lenovo tablet 8. It's not something I would have purchased for myself but it practically jumped into my lap. After using it for awhile I started getting used to Windows 8. From a hardware perspective, the stats aren't top of the line yet it still boots quickly and there is no real lag in the applications. Solid state storage does wonders folks. It has built-in front and back cameras, wireless, blue tooth . . . all of the standard amenities you come to expect. That's the Good. Despite having a fair price and a reasonable product, I have a hard time recommending it. I find that the screen size it just too small to do useful work on. It's bigger brother the 10" tablet is a much better form factor in my opinion. The one issue I did have with the tablet was when the cameras stopped working. Just out of the blue. Turns out some update caused it to stop working. It turns out that an optional software update is what ended up fixing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the way the Yoga looks and feels. It is intuitive and easy to learn. My biggest problem with this tablet is it's inability to connect to Wifi unless you are right on top of the brouter/Mifi. Otherwise, a great starter tablet.

Kickstand does not attain the best viewing angle

At first I really like the kickstand feature of my tablet, but I've found that it's not really the angle the optimum angle for viewing a recipe while cooking or watching a movie in bed. I suppose it's better than no kickstand at all, though.

Very Pleased with Yoga 8

Easy to use-- bought for our 7 year old grandson, he has no problems moving around screens and doing activities. The adults like it as well, have watched movies and listened to music on it. Overall, was a good choice for a family that has differenct interests.
