What's great about it: Picture quality, Internet capable
What's not so great: Plasma panel possible failure after 1 year warranty runs out.
I have owned this model less than two months after my previous
Panasonic 50" Viera tv failed after 19 months of use with a defective plasma panel. If I had not purchased the service contract I would have paid $1300 for the pleasure of having a tv for about 1 1/2 years.
I don't know if I was just unlucky or if this is common.
In regards to my decision to purchase another Panasonic plasma, it is my hope that lightning will not strike the exact place twice, I really like the picture quality, features and inputs that comes with this model. Very thin profile, excellent picture from any angle or light conditions. I really enjoy the internet connectivity, it was a major reason for my purchase decision. I can use Skype, Netflix, connect my smartphone, tablet, pc wirelessly to my tv; it is very seamless and very good quality.
I would give this tv all 5's it I knew it would last at least 6-8 years trouble free but based on my experience that remains to be seen, if I experience another catastrophic failure this will be my last purchase of a Panasonic product. I recommend this tv to a friend with the purchase of a service contract, without it I feel it would be a very expensive gamble.

I love this TV. I recently bought the SONY KDL46NX720 46" Edge Lit LED. I like the TV until I notice the big problem with off axis view. WOW! LED is not ready for prime time. So I returned it for a plasma. Picture quality is equal to if not better than the LED. The off axis viewing is not an issue anymore. I love this TV and would recommend it to any and everyone. 4 HDMI ports is a big plus. THX picture settings look awesome. I own a 43" Pioneer Elite and I would say the Panasonic picked up where Pioneer left off. I am extremely happy with it so far.

What's great about it: the black levels
What's not so great: speakers.
This is my second Plasma TV. After much research I decided to purchase this particular TV and I find it to be the best decision. The blacks are so dark and the colors so bright. You can't go wrong here.

What's great about it: Easy to set up, looks great on the wall. Even my wife loves it!
What's not so great: Haven't found anything yet.
This GT30 55" replaced my G20 50". Love the picture quality. Easy to set up. It is in a room with a large window and the picture is fantastic. The people at the Crab Tree Valley Mall store are the BEST. I will continue to drive to Raleigh because of the service that I received. Very knowledgable people, willing to help, great friendly staff.

What's great about it: easy to set up, picture quality, built in wifi, apps, thx mode, thin, looks nice
What's not so great: sound, a bit heavy for size
This was the third TV i bought when I was in the market for a new TV. The first one I bought was a 55in insignia. It was nice and very cheap but just didn't look all that great. I then went with a samsung 55in 6000 series. This was a very nice TV but it had clouding and flash light issues which drove me nuts. When i took that back, the best buy rep said he had the perfect TV for. He then showed me this plasma. I had wanted to stay away from plasmas but after doing research I saw that these new plasmas are nothing like the old ones. They don't heat up as much and burning in is not an issue like it was in the past. They also now last just as long as LCDs do.
As for this TV, the first thing you will notice is the style of it. It looks very stylish and sleek. It is just a nice looking TV overall. The image quality is amazing. I play a lot of video games so the first thing I test out when i got it home was a game. I noticed a instant difference between this and the previous samsung I had. This TV just made the image look amazing. It has a thx mode which produces a very nice image without having to do to much messing around with the settings. If you do like to mess with settings then you can go to custom mode and go nuts with all the different types of settings you can change. The sound quality is okay, but I ended up buying a panasonic soundbar which goes with the TV perfectly. They looked like they belong together, and I can use one remote to control both the TV and the soundbar which is great.
The TV also comes with a free dongle to connect to wifi or you can connect it with a cable. Many other TVs don't so you would have to shell out 80 bucks to buy a dongle if you wanted to connect with wifi so thats a big plus for this tv. You can download tons of apps but I mostly just use netflix, break.com app, sports app, facebook, and pandora. They are always adding new apps which is cool and it is very easy to download and install. It also has a bunch of connection in the back and even comes with a arc connection which again goes great with the panasonic soundbar since I onyl need to use one connection to play everything through the soundbar( xbox, TV, apps, cable, blueray, etc.).
Overall this is an amazing TV and I am very happy the best buy rep showed me it. I was originally just going to replace my samsung with another samsung but so glad I didn't. FOr the price of this TV you won't find anything better. To get a better tv you will have to spend up into the $3000 range. You want to spend that much then look at the samsung 8000 series led TVs which are great, but expensive when it comes to this size TV. If not then just buy this TV because trust me you won't be disappointed. If you have a couple of hundred extra bucks then also think about getting that panasonic soundbar because the two go great together.

What's great about it: Size, Quality, color, contrast
What's not so great: HDMI inputs are all on the side
Stepped up from a 42" Plasma up to this monster. It's very slim, no noises (some report buzzing) 4 HDMI inputs, has internet built in including Netflix. Does 3D (probably won't ever use it) and has great color and contrast. Check out Panasonic's website and ask Best Buy to price match the manufacturer.

This is a great TV... had it for a month and I love it!! It sounds ok but not great... but none of them sound GREAT. I will write another review in a year. I jus wish it had analog audio output for my old reciever... BUT... i guess its time to get a new receiver that has HDMI inputs.

What's great about it: Picture, form factor
What's not so great: Can't find anything yet
Went through two TVs (Samsung 6000 LED and Samsung 550 plasma) before settling on this one. Excellent form factor, extremely slim. Picture looks great, watched hockey last night and noticed no juttering or shaky images at all. Remote is very easy though I use a Harmony One (which replicates flawlessly all the features of the OEM remote). Only complaint might be that the picture seems darker on THX mode. I switched it to Custom last night for the game and things are a lot brighter. Very happy with this TV. From now on, I only get TVs from the Magnolia room. Internet apps seem nice but I'm not yet convinced they're really necessary or useful. I use Apple TV for Netflix streaming.

What's great about it: picture quality, size/price ratio
What's not so great: slightly on the heavy side
I just purchased the 55gt30 over the weekend...the store I got it from had it on special...(less than the "sale" price advertised on bby.com) I was able to watch Sunday Night Football and MNF and BOY I TELL YOU!!!! WOW!!!! I've had a 42" plasma before this tv and it was good...but this Panasonic blows it out of the water! My advice to you, go to your local BBY and talk to the most senior sales person you can...in my experience, they are willing to deal! (hint: they will match a certain online website) Good luck and just buy this tv already!!!!
As for those who are debating whether to buy an LED-LCD...don't do it! I intended on buying a comparable Samsung LED-LCD...tried it about 2 weeks prior and I was not amazed. I held off purchasing a tv until Black Friday/Weekend for the best deal and I couldn't be happier with the Panasonic 55".

What's great about it: Overall Picture Quality
What's not so great: Modest product looks
Waited on this product for many months and finally decided to give 3D a chance (even though some Internet pundits claim it is dying). The brightness problems with early versions of this plasma appear to be resolved; I compare it with my Kuro Signature Elite (141FD) and it holds its own.
3D images are crisp and generally deep enough to make the bother of the active glasses acceptable. It's better to be close to the screen and the further you are away from the set, the more dramatic screen effects (bullets, blades, et al) do not work. Some ESPN 3D feeds are stunning in their realism and show completely new perspectives about the playing field (e.g., snowboard halfpipes).
Set comes with picture adjusted very well.

What's great about it: Images pop off the screen
What's not so great: Screen setting should default to THX
My last SD CRT of 20 years died and I decided to upgrade with a 55-60 inch set. I had picked out an LCD but then talked to a blueshirt about whether their was a better option. He explained that given my room conditions (darker basement den) that a Plasma would be a better choice.
I did not really like the ones that they had on the floor (the salesperson explained that part of this was the lighting in the showroom) and eventually he had a Magnolia sales rep serve me and showed me a variety of options including this one.
Overall they were correct! Definitiely, the set is impressive. Action movies are incredibly fast and the image pop off the set.
I had my impression of plasma TV's in the past generate heat like a blast furnance, bulky, etc. I would like to report that this set runs cool and has a streamline look and feel.
The only improvement in the set would be to set default screen mode to THX. (Make this change if you get this set the default color scheme is to dark).

What's great about it: Pcture quality, THX setting, No worries of refresh rate
What's not so great: Sound, Could have more customs settings
I had a 4yr old LCD go bad, and first tried an Samsung LED with the credit that was given to me from a warranty thru Geek Squad. I tried that TV for about a week, and then found this one. This TV blows any LED, LCD out of the water, and you don't have to worry about refresh rate ie. 120/240 etc. Plasma is the way to go for serious movie and sports watching. Games are great too.
The THX setting on the Panasonic is almost near perfect, and the most natural. I would have purchased the VT30 but it was out of my price range, but to be honest I don't see that much of a difference in the models, not at least for the justification in price difference. Sound is not so great on this TV, but you would not be doing yourself any favors, if you didn't have the your sources hooked up to a surround receiver anyway. And of course, you still want to be a little precautious for burn in, but plasma technology has come a long way the last few years. (Geek Squad's extended warranty includes coverage for this, so get it, it's highly recommended) I have my desktop computer hooked up to this baby and it runs great.
This TV and today's plasma technology is just awesome!!!!!

What's great about it: Picture, Set up, price point relative to competitors.
What's not so great: The dongle for wireless internet blocks the second USB port.
I was trying to decide between the Sony LED televisions and the Panasonic Plasmas. Since the Panasonics were about $700 cheaper, and I really couldn't tell the difference between the pictures in the store, I went with the Panasonic. At home, the picture is great day or night. The SD pictures are excellent as well. I didn't buy 3D glasses yet due to lack of content, so I can't comment on that.
I gave the sound an average rating because it is just that. I have this TV hooked up to a multi-channel home theater system, so sound quality of the TV was not a major factor for me.
Set up was simple.
