Every thing I wanted and needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Microwave was everything we wanted and needed. It looks great and works even better. The controls are easy to read and use. All the functions work well. My only complaint is I am not fond of the door latch button. It sticks from time to time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice if it only worked more than 3 weeks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always liked GE so when it was time to get a new microwave I picked up this one. Well within a few days it started acting odd, just stopping in the middle of cooking and blinking the remaining time. Other times it just would stop and show the remaining time and now the light blew out. A true lemon in every sense. Back to the store with it and will try another brand.

Unreliable!!

Just returned after 2 weeks because turntable stopped working. My niece also just bought a new JES1142 because she liked the way our's looked. Niece's unit on button did not work out-of-the-box and she had to return it. It has been less than one week but so far both replacement units are working ok. We bought the JES1142 because the reviews were very good, especially compared to the terrible reviews on the Profile series. Our old GE microwave is 22 years old and still working fine but we wanted an updated look. Guess they just don't make anything the way they used to.

The unit has a mind of its own and periodically stops for no reason. The digital display in the window at times is partial and the unit heats food unevenly.

Nice for first 3.5 years

I have had this for about 3 1/2 years and the paint is peeling on the inside top. It has been a decent experience until now.
Now I have to buy a new one. Seems companies should make things to last longer.

We occasionally use the microwave just to reheat coffee, sometimes to defrost, or melt. The exterior is very nice looking the interior constantly rusts. Had it fixed twice with microwave oven paint. Continues to rust. Would not recommend this to anyone

We are very sorry to hear this, as it is not something we would expect to occur. If the coating is actively flaking or paint is peeling anywhere inside the oven cavity (including under the turntable) discontinue the use of the microwave and replace it.
