touchpad drives me crazy. DEAL breaker
on January 29, 2015

I have had mine now for about 4 months and have decided to buy a different laptop from a different company. Pros: 1)looks nice, 2) lightweight, 3)didn't have stuff I didn't need like number keypad and dvd drive. 4)battery life is good, 5)haven't had and issues with performance. Cons: touchpad is the worst. I just cannot get over how difficult it is to move around the cursor with the pad, it is very unresponsive and I felt like it was taunting me. This was deal breaker for me, just couldn't get used to it. I thought the keyboard was nice and easy to type but after months of using it, I just didn't like how the keys felt and made a lot of typing errors, but it was mostly the touchpad that I couldn't handle, no way to adjust the setting. I bought Lenovo for its reputation, never will I buy this brand again, at least not a laptop unless they make a better touchpad.

Bad Touch Screen - Immediately
on April 5, 2015

Within a month my touchscreen went out, then it went out again and again, I have to send my New U430 to Lenovo for about 2 weeks. Instead of them sending me a brand new computer. Once you open the unit for repairs it's never the same. I am convinced Lenovo was aware of this problem.

I am happy with this purchase...however I am concerned about one thing. Laptop batteries do not last forever...however, the botton on this is flat and I do not see where the battery is or how it comes out to be replaced. Could it be that it is unable to be replaced making this a horrible investment? I sure hope not, but before you purchase I would definitely want to have that answer...

I've bought this lenovo u 430 in last year! really excited with this product, its has such a good touch, really awesome! i would recommend this product to any one. it runs smoothly and believe me i didnt face any problem with this. the only thing i feel bad is that the providers didn't provide a screen guard to this.

Excels at almost everything

Bought this laptop with a 256GB SSD, dual GPU (Intel HD 4400 & NVIDIA) & core i7; still lightest I've ever had. Great battery life even after 2 years, HD regular good quality. People often mistake it for a Macbook, funnily.
Anyway, only downsides are:
- little hiss when doing high-performance work (eg FPS games & video editing)
- screen brightness too low to work outside (didn't matter to me)
- the audio is decent but not that good compared to my previous Dell XPS 15, but then again, I don't really mind..

Great look and feel but poor display quality

I just received my order a couple of days ago. Lenovo Ultrabook u430 is perfect for those who are on the move and want stylish notebook. The battery life is not as good as mentioned on website.
Pros: Sleek Shape, Light Weight, Great Touch Display, Backlit Keyboard, Good Performance
Cons: Very Glossy Display, Low Battery Life 2hrs
Result: If you do not use it outdoors, its a great buy.

Not Quite Right
on May 13, 2015

Pros: In the brief week that I owned my Lenovo u430 Touch I was very impressed with the size, the look and feel, and the construction. I had no problem whatever with using the PC either, except for the one item for which I sent it back to the manufacturer.
Cons: The laptop’s WiFi was limited to a 6-8 foot radius. I was expecting a 25 ft radius. Without this capability, the Ideapad is only 50% useful to me. After a week of concentrated effort, both following the advice on the Lenovo forum, and also the instructions of their support people, I sadly decided to give up.
Also, after my good faith efforts to make this fine computer acceptable, I was told that if I did return it, I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. I can see how someone might think that Lenovo is not sympathetic (as they insist they are) to the needs of their customers.
