I referred to Consumer Reports, as I do for all my major purchases and the top 3 Microwaves they recommended for over the Range, were all GE products. This Model took first place and they were right, as they always are. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The design, appearance, ease or great features, quietness and wonderful performance, gets two thumbs up from me and makes this a product I highly recommend.

Terrible User Interface

Bought this to replace an older GE Microwave that died. The old one had express buttons - if I wanted 5 minutes, I only had to hit the 5 - 2 minutes, hit the 2. With this new one, to get 5 minutes, I have to 1) Hit "Cooking Menu," 2) turn the dial to "Cook by Time," 3) Press the dial to select, 4) turn the dial to select the amount of time, 5) press the dial to select, 6) turn the dial to adjust "Power," 7) press the dial to select, 8) press "Start." That's 8 steps to accomplish what used to be done in 1. Certainly not progress.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this microwave just about 3 weeks ago. I was concerned that I would get push back from the family because it lacks on the front convenience buttons. Once I explained about the menu button and the more numerous convenience settings, they were thrilled. They use the reheat plate and beverage almost every day. My favorite feature is the "boost" venting option. This is an over-the-range unit. You want it to vent well. It vents the best of all the otr units that we've owned.
The unit is working like a charm, and we love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally caved in and had to buy a new microwave, this one has a very sleek clean feel to it and works just as well as some of the much pricier ones. Definitely worth the money! I would recommend. The color goes perfectly with our kitchen
