Works as Good as it Looks

First, it's unnecessary to memorize the manual because the few controls and many features are intuitive. Additionally, the defrost setting is pitch-perfect and the heat sensor works exceptionally well at reheating dishes. Also, the turntable is large enough to accommodate our largest square dinner plates. We're very satisfied with our purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for an above-cooktop microwave.

Works well, but be careful regarding installation

We purchased this model because it had the strongest exhaust fan and so far it works very well. However, it does have many menu settings and shortcuts that we will never use such as a whole selection just for snacks. Also, this model is higher than our old GE microwave and the installers needed to bend the frame around our tile backsplash. A friend with a granite backsplash had to have a wood shim installed behind the unit by a carpenter.

I made a huge mistake and bought a foreign competitors over the range microwave that had to be replaced 3 times in less than 3 years... I then purchased this GE Profile unit and have learned my lesson. You cannot beat GE design, technology and performance...they build QUALITY!

It works

I've had this microwave a little over a month. It works but the controls take some getting used to. You push a button for defrost, or time cook or several other features. Then you turn a knob to set the time then you push the button on the knob to select the time , heat level and push again to start. It seems like a lot of button pushing, to me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall very good, but food settings like popcorn, hotdogs, rice are not right ( at least for me) and I have had to make adjustments. Also a clock would be nice, but that may be in the next level of this model.

I wasn't sure about the knob feature on my new microwave, but after using it I find it is so much easier to use than my old one. The popcorn feature made better popcorn than my last two microwaves.

I have had this model for the summer. It replaced an equivalent model that was 5 yrs old. The functions work very well, the automatic reheating programs work better in this model. I do not like the dial to scroll thru the menu, the touch pad was nicer and quicker... Although, the touch pad is what stopped working on the other oven and is no longer available. Overall, I love the oven and would recommend it.

Great Product!

This microwave was purchased to complement the purchase of our recent range. It works well, albeit it operated a bit differently from our prior GE Microwave. It was easy to learn, however, and we are enjoying the additional useful functions available on this Microwave (e.g., "My Plate" and "Steam" functions).
