I had to get a replacement blender jar as the old one started to leak after 600 uses. When i got the new jar, i noticed the lid is not completely closed and it comes apart in two pieces. This is harder to clean this way. The jar handle also is not solid its hollow so stuff can get stuck on inside of it. Im noticing the blades just are not fully blending frozen bananas in smoothies n i have to pulse it a few times after the cycle is done.

I am now looking at buying a third jar. I am not sure how long these things a re supposed to last but the original died, bearing at the bottom went bad. Bought the second on 3-4 years ago and the bearing at th bottom is going bad also. Very disappointing for such a well made motor base.

Good Blend

I bought my blendtec blender and two FourSide Jars when they were at Costco. I really like the blender and feel it is powerful. However, the gasket on the blender Jar has a short life. I was under 400 blends and the black gasket around the blade shredded in my first Jar. The little plastic shreds ended up in the smoothie making it inedible. I am looking to get the Jar exchanged. However, I do hope that Blendtec improves the technology they use for the gasket holding the blade. It's frustrating to pay so much for a "high" quality blender and have the Jar go out on you.
Be prepared to buy a blendtec jar every couple years since they do not last

Chunky blend!

I bought this jar a year ago and I have been very unhappy with it. It does not blend smooth, does not stay sealed (yes it broke open and exploded all over) and leaves chunks. I have tried all of Blendtec's ideas of how to make this work better but it does not fix the problem. Don't waste your time! Ive even had this exact jar replaced once because the first just fell apart in the bearing. Get the wild side (wish I could but it is not economical to buy another jar). Not happy with it!

It's wonderful

I use this jar a lot. It's great for cake, muffin, and brownie batters. Everything goes in there (wet ingredients first), you press a button, then you have batter. Pouring into muffin tins or ramekins is easy because of the jar's square shape. Then, cleanup is just a matter of adding some hot water from the sink and a bit of dish soap, then pressing another button (you might have to repeat the process with batter, but once is enough with smoothies). It takes time and patience (at least ten minutes of continuous care) to make thicker things like nut butters, hummus, and homemade lara bars, and a little less for ice cream, but it can be done by pulsing for a few seconds, scraping the contents back towards the blades, and repeating. It makes good nut flours and chickpea flour, but its rice flour, tapioca flour, and powdered sugar are too grainy for my taste. Make sure you don't get lazy with cleaning it right away. If you leave it, then you'll have to soak it in the sink, and the seal at the bottom that keeps the contents from dripping out will weaken (as I've experienced after three years of doing this). You can also spin the blades manually (with the blender unplugged!) before you use it to save the seal.

For $100, you would think that this wouldn't stop working out after 2 years. Still a great blender.

I bought a blendtec blender and the jar failed after about a year. I decided to go ahead and buy a whole new blender again because the jars were so expensive. Same thing happened. Now I have 2 bases. Sad
