Hard To Setup

Very hard to setup wireless interface to iPhone and laptop. You must download new firmware that is not included with the delivered hardware. The documentation is not detailed enough to setup a secure wireless connection between devices. The unit is designed with very cheap plastic components that don't look like previous HP printers and are not likely to last. I wish HP would go back to making products that are heavy duty and long lasting with good drivers and firmware included for all current operating systems. I would be willing to pay more for quality!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect Home Accessory

Very functional, easy initial set up, and intuitive controls. And, I must mention that I love the compact size - which I wasn't expecting. This unit is replacing a much-appreciated, but aging HP LaserJet printer and a Canon home photo-copier.
To my delight, this new HP MFP Printer is half the size of the Canon copier, completely replaces the separate laser printer, and adds scan and fax capabilities. In addition, the copy and print functionality exceeds those of the above mentioned units I'm recycling.
Finally, totally love the wireless functionality. I expected to love the ability to print wireless from anywhere in the house; but, I didn't understand that the scan and fax features are also wireless. So, when I insert a document to scan into the automatic page feed, I can scan that to my PC desktop from anywhere in the house.
There were a few other features I've not yet tried; but, so far this is a much-valued addition to our home. And, btw, the price was very competitive.
Well done, HP.

This product is good with the exception it is very slow in processing faxes. I have noticed that if a fax is being sent you can not sent a print document to the printer until the fax has completed. It wants to lock up and not print.
I do like the quality of the printed document. There really needs to have a manual sent with the printer as I do not have time to try to figure out each of the features offered. It is too time consuming.

This Multi-function printer/copier/fax is perfect for my home office. It's not super fast, but I knew that when I bought it. It does what I need it to do and It has all the features I wanted. I also like the flatbed paper feeder. I'm very happy with my purchase and the price was reasonable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great except for limitation on scan/copy function

Very satified with the set-up, and laser print quality.
All mfp features work well and are easy to use, and paper and online documentation was clear.
The one limitation is the scan/copy function when using the glass. The unit requires the top to be closed such that you can't copy a page from a folded over magazine, or from a text book.
A modification is needed to allow the top to be partially open like most scanner/copyers.
I reported the issue.

not the best scanner

I do a lot of scanning and this product can scan, but its pretty slow and you just cant scan to your laptop, you have to go on your laptop and click on a few icons and screens before the scanning will actually start, and then go do something for a minute or two or three or four depending on the number of pages. The copying works well, the printing works well, I dont use the fax features. I love the wireless feature

Some minor problems

Setup was fairly simple but I wanted more descriptive words instead of pictures with few words. I had a minor problem when I set up the printer in a room 30 feet from the router and the printer couldn't find it. it could be the routers fault but I ended up moving ithe printer next to the router.
After a couple of weeks of use, I No longer am able to print from my laptop using the wireless connection. This has just happened and I haven't had time to troubleshoot it.
I like the speed and print quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fast warm up time!

Love this all in one laser printer! It's easy as pie to install. No drivers needed. When you hook up the usb cable to which ever computer you will be printing from the software is automatically recognized and installed. The warm up time to print or copy is super fast, faster than any other laser printer I've ever had.
