Having trouble with the latch power switch.

Having trouble accesses the latch power switch. In the manual it doesn’t give you instructions on how to remove the control panel. Microwave continues to run while the door is open.

Federal law requires that any adjustment or repair of a microwave door, also be followed up by a leak test to make sure of proper fit, operation, and alignment, this would also include the latch power switch. This must be done by a qualified technician. Spent more on repairs than the unit cost

Poor Quality. Less than 4 years old and had to replace the unit. First issue was sparks when using. Got that fixed and a year later the mother board went out. Got that fixed and the mother board went out again. Used GE Service for Repairs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just after we got out of our one year warranty the microwave started having sparks out the side and caught on fire.

Great looks - questionable quality

Builder said this spec home comes with high end GE Profile appliances, and i thought it means these would be of best quality out there. We did not use this microwave much at all for the first 2 years in our new home because it is positioned above a double oven and so was little too high to access comfortably for most of the family. However as our smaller counter top microwave started to age and rust, we recently switched to using the built in more regularly, and just as we got the hang of it, it suddenly started making loud noise and could sense some burning smell. That is so bad to have a high end appliance go bad so quickly, where as my previous home another middle of the crop microwave worked flawlessly for 25 years. Come to think of it we also had a problem with the dishwasher within a couple of months of moving in but luckily builder got it fixed right away. So i am not having good vibe about the quality/longevity of these GE profile appliance. May be GE knows and that is why they can't warranty beyond 1 year
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This GE Profile microwave should be one of best quality out there. Though it was installed by the builder in 2018, we only recently started using, and it was all good for a couple of months. suddenly started making loud noise and could sense some burning smell. not happy

This is my third GE microwave and my first to give me trouble from the start! first the light stopped working only to find out it cant be replaced! Then on day i open the door to see glass, the turn table had a chunk out of the edge.. then a few months later another chunk. and lastly the turntable stopped working.. i've done all the trouble shooting and nothing works! not sure if i'll replace with a GE!

Looking to replace model PEB7226DFBB

It looks like everyone has had the same problem. 3 years and then it dies. GE can you tell me, do the newer profile model ending in DLBB fit the same trim kit as the PEB7226DFBB? I want to replace my broken DFBB.

Microwave trim kits are not interchangeable so you will need to choose a new trim kit. Horrible quality

Ours flickered at the site of the plate while in use and the finally stopped heating. We hardly use microwave and it stopped working in less than 2year.
