Issues after 1.5 years of use

We bought this 4/21/22 because we needed a larger white Countertop microwave and had GEs before. It was pretty expensive compared to OTR microwaves but that wasn't an option for us. It was a nice microwave until a week or so ago when it started sparking and arching. I keep it clean inside so that isn’t the cause of the issue. Very disappointed that it died so soon after the warranty is up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unsafe Appliance

As others have said, ours is 7 years olds and started on fire last night. We will be shopping for a new replacement today. Guess when someone’s’ house burns down something will happen with this product.

Terrible Product - Dangerous!

Having the same issue as everyone else has with this product. It started sparking/arching recently to the point where I'm afraid to use it anymore. It seems to be a faulty product and GE should have some sort of recourse for their customers. The trim kit I have won't even fit the replacement, which is ridiculous on GE's part and makes replacement a significant cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Spark and fire

We had this microwave for 5 years. We tried warming a cup of milk and it started a spark & fire on the right inside of the microwave. Luckily i am watching and have avoided a major issue with a potential fire. We have warmed a cup of milk many times and didn't have this problem. After seeing several reviews and i feel there is a manufacturing defect as they are many cases life this. This is a dangerous safety hazard and needs to be looked at. Please recall this product so that we can avoid any potential fires and accidents.

Electrical disaster waiting to happen

This is the 2nd unit I have purchased mainly because of the built in space in the cabinet. But like all other reviews on here both units would spark behind the metal plate and smell like electrical burning. Especially sparked with popcorn. now it has quite working, site says no longer being manufactured probably because of this safety issue. GE what is the replacement to fit this built in with cabinet trim?

Fire hazard

This microwave should have been recalled after reading all of these reviews. It seems everyone else had the same issue. Mine popped, sparked and created a flame. Terrible!
