Adequate but not up to the older model

My 12 year old built-in GE Profile microwave died. So I bought today's equivalent model. Easy to install. Nice design. Performs adequately but not as well as the older model. Does not heat/thaw evenly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this oven a month ago as a replacement for a 13 year old GE microwave. The product controls and functions are similar to the old unit which made it easy to start using. Construciton of this unit seems lower quality and the cost of the trim and built-in wall kit was very expensive.

This is a replacement unit for my five year old built in which shorted out. It appears cheaply made and does not have many of the features the old unit had.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does the job but a bit loud

I bought this microwave a month ago to replace my old GE microwave which had died after 14 years. This one has a larger capacity and I think most of the same features. The primary differences are:
1. This microwave has a lot of space. Very nice if you want to cook a lot of food
2. If you set the timer on the microwave, it only beeps one time after the timer goes off. After that it goes quiet. And stays quiet. My old GE beeped every few seconds to let you know that the alarm had gone off. It's very easy to miss hearing the timer go off so if you use it to time rice or pasta on the stove then there's a good chance that you're going to overcook something.
3. This microwave is quite loud for some reason. It almost sounds like it's vibrating. Quite different from my old GE. Not sure if it's a defect or if that's the way this microwave is supposed to be.

I'm giving 3 stars because the microwave does what it's supposed to do for the most part. If they fixed the timer feature and the operating volume then this would be the perfect microwave.

Does the job but liked my old one better

This model replaced a 27 yr old Sharp Carousel and everything about it isn't as smooth. You have to push the buttons and the door release latch harder and it's often difficult to hear when the item is ready. Does it do the job: yes; is it as user friendly: no.
