This microwave was purchased to replace the same model that lasted only three years. The reason we returned to the same model is because we also had purchased the trim kit three years prior and wanted to re-use it. We are hoping this one lasts longer. The door does not latch unless pressed at the top right when closing.

Failed Again

I have purchased three of this and the previous model over 17 years. The current one has stopped working after about 2.5 years. My countertop microwave growing up lasted longer than all three combined. I purchased again because it is a built in but this was the last one.

Will not work after less than 2 years

This microwave came with our new home. It stopped working after less than 2 years. Convenient given there is only a 1-year warranty on the product, which tells me they are only really meant to last 1-year. Called Customer Service and they told me I would just have to buy a new one since the warranty expired. I will not be buying another GE product.

Broken after only 4 years of use

I bought this in 2016 and stopped working two days ago. We don’t use the microwave frequently. Additionally is not clear which microwave could be fit in the same trim because this is discontinued . Really disappointed And frustrated with this equipment

We are finding that this model requires the same cutout dimensions as your existing unit, so this would make the best replacement: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/PEB7227ANDD
The trim kits are not interchangeable so you will need to choose a new trim kit depending on the width of your cabinets.
