Not as good as old product offered

The product does what it is supposed to do, but the data entry keys on the touch pad are not as solid as the old unit. Concerned it may no last as long as the old unit which lasted 10 years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beverage function completely useless

I've always had GE microwaves so imagine my surprise when my new GE microwave can't heat water! Bev button is a 3 min heat cycle followed by 3 min COOL DOWN (!!) to produce TEPID water. Can't even make tea!

This microwave is the only one that fits into the opening into the kitchen cabinets. Its warranty is only one year (unlike the one before it that lasted 5 yr 2 mo, before melting down). I tried to find an industrial microwave with an adequate warranty, but none were the proper size or light enough weight to fit into the spot. How is it working? Noisy as the last one. Also, moisture pours out of it onto the now-protected cabinet shelf when I open the door, which didn't happen in the old one (which rusted out internally).

Very nice with one exception

This microwave is a gift from our children to replace an almost identical unit we had for many years. We choose this one because it fits nicely under the cabinet and gives us more counter space. It is a great microwave with great features. It has one (unintended) feature that makes us a little nervous---the door initially---for the first few weeks---almost never opened up on the first try, it sometimes took 2-4 tries. I wondered if we should return it. Interestingly with use it seems to be opening now every time on the first try. I hope there is no problem with it later.

Why fix something that works!

I bought this about a month ago to replace the prior GE Profile microwave that zonked out. The diminishes changed ever so slightly and we had to have our cabinets reworked to fit it. The timer goes off with one beep and if you miss it, you missed it! The buttons are not as sturdy as the last model. Over all if we had a choice we would look at other models.

This is our second GE built in microwave, the first one lasted for about 11 years so we were pretty happy with it. It was a solid machine. When it came time to replace it, we bought another GE Profile. Right off the bat, it was painfully clear that this was a much more cheaply made product. Within 3 weeks it was having a power failure issue and needed a new magnetron and thermometer. The parts & labor were of course covered, but you can imagine the total disappointment of having to have a brand new microwave need major repair after just 3 weeks. Oh and the inconvenience of waiting for a repair service call and parts? Pure joy. That said, the microwave is currently functioning fine, fingers crossed that it will last at least for the length of the warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is not as good in general as the last 4 GE

I have had many GE appliances and have been very satisfied. This is the 4th GE microwave I have had at this same home. The "frame" which was supposed to fit this model was not good so I had to order another and paid for it a second time. It is not as strong as the last ones nor are the buttons in good places. I am not satisfied but I guess I'll use this one until I have to buy another. It probably won't be a GE
