Very Nice!

We bought this microwave to replace one that had been built in 23 years ago. It just so happens that this one was the only microwave that would fit in the space provided, but it looks fantastic and works very well. It's not that powerful, but works great for us! We ordered a trim kit for it and installed it very easily ourselves. Couldn't be happier........
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my third one in 20 years and EVERY one has to have the cupboard drilled different. They also changed the hanging kit so that had to modified!
GE is the only company that makes the size required for the cabinets so I am stuck.

Not Very Happy

We thought that we would be pleased by replacing our old GE microwave with basically the same model, the under the cabinet mounting model. Unfortunately the control panel is very hard to read under low light. Our model is black with black buttons with gray writing... impossible to see in low light conditions. We keep a flashlight (seriously) in a draw near the microwave. There are a few other dislikes in the cooking procedures that frustrate us also. In short we are very disappointed in that paying $$$ for something that is not as good as the 13 year old that it replaced.

What I dislike most!

The microwave works effectively. Is smaller than my last due to the revolving feature; but the BIGGEST problem is that the controls are so difficult to read. The lettering is not highlighted nor lit up. I could use the old one with ease. Now I'm always running to get my reading glasses. Annoying - big time...

This is my 3rd ge microwave of this category in 8 years. The first one died after 4 years, the last one rusted away inside the oven and I had to replace it. I replaced it with this new version ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY STYLE THAT WILL FIT IN THE SPACE I HAVE AVAILABLE. IF I COULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER BRAND I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT INSTEAD

Paper not Plastic

The PFM31SESS microwave was purchased for use on a boat. I have the larger JVM6715 over the range microwave at home. When I received the PFM31SESS, it had a flimsy piece of silver cardboard-like material on the right side behind the light, called a "wave guide." which was taped on. In my JVM6715 microwave, this area is covered by a piece of plastic that snaps into place. I called GE, expecting that the PFM microwave was missing the plastic. Nope, the flimsy silver cardboard was supposed to be there, and this is the only microwave that has the cardboard wave guide instead of plastic. I would have returned the microwave, however, the size of the microwave is a perfect fit for the built in space on the boat and can't find another anywhere with the same measurements/wattage.
In the normal course of a month of cleaning using a damp sponge, the cardboard piece didn't hold up at all. The tape holding it in place peeled, and the cardboard tore and fell off. I had to order a new wave guide. GE profit rose 22% this year. One would think they use a piece of cheap plastic instead of cheap cardboard that falls apart in less than a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
