Great Replacement

Purchased this model as a replacement for a 12 year old GE Profile microwave that broke down. I didn’t have many options due to size restrictions. The new version is so much quieter than the the other and about 1/2 inch taller and wider but luckily it fits.

The key board functions are now more difficult to see, and illumination of the keys would help. Previously , ( 2 similar units ) I was able to undermount the MCV with different cabinet brackets. This time the Wizkid engineers moved the mounting screw holes for at least the third time to the point that undermounting was impossible. Solution was to add a shelf. What a special thrill! Now we have less space underneath, but fortunately have a master carpenter as a neighbor.
You have a captured market ( for us since1998 ) for a specifically dimensioned product that functions well. So why do you PO repeat loyal customers with different mounting variations? And since you asked , the internet instructions manual doesn't appear to be any different than the new and improved paper ( sorry , print ) manual accompanying the unit. Like the microwave, disappointed with the engineering, and Oh Yes Happy Holidays!

Very disappointed

I had the previous model with trim kit. I ordered the new model a month ago. Trim kit is horrible. It does not lie flat against the cabinet. In fact it sticks out nearly 2 inches. The previous model sat flush with the cabinet. I am extremely disappointed with how this looks. It does NOT give you a built in look. Also the frame is a little too big for the microwave so you can see underneath the base of the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost perfect

When our 20+ year old GE over-the-range microwave recently died, we discovered we could not replace it with something similar, due to the increased height of current models; so we had to buy a countertop model or do without, and our countertop space is at a premium. That said, I am surprised how much I like this microwave - so many wonderful features that our old one lacked. We especially like the menu of heating options (e.g., "vegetables - fresh,". " vegetables - frozen") that work close to perfectly. Our only complaint is how hard we have to push the buttons, especially the start button, to make our selections.
